New players are going to get traumatized

Mumble is down, APC's and IFV's are going crazy on the servers, CAS is doing whatever it feels like doing, servers run very, very bad and there's constant rubberbanding.
I blame the 100 player servers

.
But really, all of this happened after 100p servers were standard. I actually suggest going back to 64 for anything but 4km2 maps. I feel like the servers can't handle it, and mumble is getting overloaded or something so to speak.
Anyway, to the topic: Do you think a new player who joins today will ever play PR again?

If he is patient enough (like me; and many others) and understands that this is a free mod, then probably he will.

Servers with less than 100 max is starting to pop up. If the active players keep being this much there is going to be a player base that can fill the 64 player server so people with struggling hardware got a place to go.

We had so many servers losing internet connection even before 100 players on .98. It has nothing to do with the player count really. PRmumble going down is due to it being integrated and very complex the last updated had a bad result. It will be up soon.

Hi, I'm not new player, but I got trauma when i start this game now. With prev version all worked fine with full graphic details. Now even on medium i have problems. So wtf? 1.0 has bigger requirments then prev version? [chcecked on serveres with 90 and 45 players]. With running I have mostly always bug/lag. Avatar is "runing" even when I stop or movements are faster then normal animation. To stop it I must crouch. [ping ~60-70]
Regards

Whats your ping? and also be-careful with your graphic choices as certain ones are FPS offenders that dont offer an awful lot. Like shadows, view distance and anti-aliasing, though TBH i wish they hadnt restricted the graphic options so much in 1.0.

Laki, I think a part of the problem is optimization. I know that I have been experiencing some of the same issues as you, give it a week or two and I assume most of the problems will be solved (hopefully) *knocks on wood* - It seems like a while ago, but 1.0 has been out only 5 days. It's going to have its problem (especially with an update of this size, I think the previous updates was 3-4 GB in size?), so 2GB more is pretty significant. I would guess the dev team is probably working to fix it as fast as possible.

Keep in mind PRMumble is now hosted on the boxes of the gameservers (at least most of them).
This means if it is down, you need to contact the server owner of the respective gameservers you are playing on.
The guys complain about 100p should probably try and host a 64p servers. You can still do that, admins still have the choice to choose a different maximum. But apparently they have difficulties filling up cause many people actually prefer 100 slots.
Mumble isn't overloaded, as I said it's not a single box anymore. We might have a few technical issues with it but I'm very positive we will fix them in the next couple of days.
It's a major release with many changes in the background that are very complex, give it a bit more time to be perfect.

Would a Ati 7950 be ok to play this game on max. BF2 always seemed to favour the Nvidia cards but I'd hope any modern card is upto it now generally

Adapt or leave.
Btw it's not the games fault, it's the players.

I have the same card as you and you can easily max out the game

Tired with the shitty 100p servers... Trying to get 3 friends learn PR but all they see is me whining about all the other squads making stupid decisions and us being wipe because of that. Server admins, if you can't steer a 100p server, go back to the 64 - heck, even 40p might be better atm. People can't play the game, and with the 100p layers they will never learn.
This isn't a fault of the DEV:s this is a fault of the community. Some of you players are just about worthless... but some are new, and can't help it.
Let's get more servers which are small, I'm tired with listening to 7 unexperienced players on my squad who get lost (can't find me) and having 3-4 + commander talking on squad mumble and having lots of music shit on local. Some PR servers just give me a headache...
It's not about winning the amount of players, it's about striving for a fun round. I'm not having fun right now, and neither are my friends. Right now we are leaning towards the n00bs leaving and never coming back, shame...
*Note: 100p servers are fun with experienced players, sq:leaders and an involved commander.

I'd start the new guys off in Coop first. Get them used to navigation, controls and gameplay and then they "graduate" to Deployment. No way to really enforce this though.

People can't learn how to play on CO-OP or 100p, generally when I started playing I learn't to play this game from joining muttrah rounds which were getting seeded, I was lucky and joined an ok squad were you could talk and play at the same time.
Now it's all whoop whoop whopp, get the CAS or APC first!!! DERP! RUN! HONK! GO GO GO! That is what happens when you bring a bunch of n00bs into that layer. Keep the 100p for events or special servers with good admins, NwA or CIA for example.
I'm not saying that we should remove 100p, rather that it doesn't really represent PR, right now it's kinda like the WWII or Falklands mod, broken - but cool.
:Thing is, I know I'm right, so all arguments are invalid!

Please read the post.
How can it possibly be the players' fault if servers are down, for example?
Did you just come in here to say "learn to play nub xD"?

Interesting.
I did not know how mumble was changed behind the scenes, but I know it was.
I do not have the funds, nor the experience to host a server, but I think that standard 64p would still be better on smaller maps.
