Latency and Performance Tweaks For All!

I've noticed a small percent of the community is having connection/fps issues with PR1.0. I decided to start this thread for people to come in and give tweaks and programs etc that help boost your performance of 1.0. If youre having issues I still HIGHLY suggest going to the support forums because there is a huge wealth of knowledge there.
A few days ago I started a thread in the support forums about how I was having massive lag spikes all the time and rubber banding all over the map on _every_ server. A kindly gentleman quickly came up with several options to help increase the quality of my poor 3G connection, and I must say everyone who is having latency issues should read through this thread! There is a latency lowering program, TCP optimizer, and some other stuff which all but got rid of the deadly lag spikes. I can actually play 1.0 decently now! Well... usually

I encourage anyone that knows of any tweaks or tricks to boost performance in 1.0 (frame rate related or otherwise) to post it in here for quick and easy access by new players!

Open task manager and run PR as high priority, might give you some extra frames per second.

If you have Nvidia graphics card, go to the nvidia control panel and change Optimal to High performance mode.
I used to have 15 fps on all low before that, now I can run on all high, textures medium

Does this affect the graphics at all?
Also, where exactly do you change it?

You can play on a 3G?
How much data do you use per hour?
How much bandwidth do you get and how's the ping?

Turning off dynamic shadows and lighting made all of my fps issues go away, just go to options in the launcher and turn them off under graphics I believe. Runs like .98 again

I cannot find where in the nvidia control panel to change this setting

Turning off dynamic lights and shadows did absolutely nothing for me.

Neither can I; please elaborate, Patrick?

Perhaps he means the Power Management settings, from Adaptive to Max Performance. It was actually on adaptive for me.

Disable UAC:
Disable User Account Control (UAC) the Easy Way on Win 7, 8, or Vista
It stops the prompt that requires the you to input the password to contiune with certain tasks.

I was looking into this last night, apparently it is only in Windows XP where this is an option, it is not available in the more recent versions of the NVidia control panel

Okay, thanks. Not really having any issues with 1.0 at all, but I never say no thank you to an extra couple of frames per second.

For some reason, when I change Pr priority; it fails as I apparently have no permission. :/

Try that?

Also, if you click the button at the bottom of the Processes Manager that says "Show Processes from All Users," you should be able to change the priority there.

I wouldn't recommend max performance because i think it will run at its max clocks even when no game is being played. That means that it will run max in windows, not really something that you need. And also temperatures and monies.

Running on an AMD system here, setting PR to run as high priority on task managers seems to have helped a lot but also setting up a custom profile for PR in the ATI Catalyst Control centre changing most settings to performance and disabling additional effects seems to have helped an enormous amount.
Of course everythings still runnning on low but I can play now
Curious as to whether or not anyone has a working Large Adress Aware for bf2? The one I normally use gets me kicked by punkbuster.
