My brother has this weird problem. His ingame sounds don't seem to work. Other games work fine, so does mumble (sometimes) but ingame sounds are completely absent. Any one have the same issues or how to alleviate it?

I get that after messing with VOIP mic volume, but a restart sorts it, does vanilla work OK?

Ploddit has the right idea here,
1. Start vanlla BF2.
2. Edit Audio options to select correct audio output
3. save changes and test
4. exit vanilla BF2
5. delete documents/projectreality directory
6. start PRlauncher,
7. reimport your vanilla BF2 profile.

That is the long way to make sure it is fixed the first time.
