I can't for the life of me figure out such a basic thing as "Remove Asset". While it's pretty clear how to deploy an asset via radio command as a squad leader, pressing right mouse button on "Remove Asset" does nothing.
Help needed.

Make sure you are next to it and there's nobody using the weapon (if i'ts TOW, HMG, AA, Mortar).

The manual says you have to be close (like 5m) so that's closer than when placing it. Maybe try moving up a bit. Also (dbzao correct me if I'm wrong) but I thought the object must be foundation-only (i.e. not built)?

They can be built.

sometimes they glitch and you cant remove it. just walk around the asset and try every side and you will most likely get it.
