It's great to finally have the French Forces in game, the famas is awesome and all... But whenever a map with the French Forces in it is played, on any server, we have to do with a bunch of people just going with those so original and never heard before "jokes".
"where is the surrender button?"
"how do you deploy the white flag?"
"everyone, drop your weapon, we surrender"
I know this is what they are, "jokes", but hearing them 10 times a day, it's no longer funny.

Most of the people making those "jokes" don't know anything about the French military.

I think the PR community is mature enough to understand this has to stop, it's been a week now, we got it, you don't like the French for whatever reason which is probably 70 years old and you just "heard of" in a drunk talk.

Whatever your reason is, someone made the joke before you, it's no longer funny, and by respect for our service men and women out there, I solemnly ask you to stop.

Keep in mind there are French people playing this game, probably some active or retired service men. Or like me, people who have close ones in the military, sometimes out there on the field. And by respect for all these people, it has to stop.

I got used to those jokes really, I don't take them seriously, but, really now... The shortest jokes are the best ones...

PS : Put yourself in our shoes, how would you react if your military (and therefore a symbol of your country) was bashed days after days after days by random people?

As a french I can agree with that, it can become annoying if it's just the same over and over. But personally I don't mind those jokes, I even make them myself and have humor for anything, since in my opinion everything could be kindly mocked

I assume Midnight here especially points out agressive and racist comments from these specific kind of people, so when it goes beyond friendliness to the point of attacking mores and valors of a country I can understand the frustration and annoyance.

I'm actually fine with it, just avoiding any form of close-mindedness and being open enough not to care

I surrender a lot regardless of factions if I'm getting slaughtered. Of course, everyone shoots you anyway so it's pointless.

Aww don't be so sensitive every faction (nation) has its jokes I don't see why the french should be exempt.
You talk of maturity wile you are not mature enough to take a few jokes.None hates France its just abit of banter.

you take this to sereous, i mean its just jokes... i am german what should i say when there are 2 NAZI and 1 SS squad on PR normandy... you get broken if you rage about everything just relax, buy a little pot and enjoy PR1.0

Can't tell you how many times I've heard "Where's the McDonalds?" while playing as Americans. It's a game, it's all harmless fun poked at people. I know for a fact plenty of Americans are impressed with the FFL and regular French military, you guys are one of the oldest to fight on this Earth.. of course that brings respect and jealousy.. so don't take it so seriously when someone cracks a joke, because your military is awesome.

I think you're taking this way too seriously. It's not that people don't like the french, it's just some overused joke that's still popular, like americans being fat etc.
Most people know that France is pretty much the second largest military power in Europe, and are pretty badass during their operations.

Literally every Bundeswehr round in PR ends up with lots of "Ze enemy" and "JA JA" shouting in Mumble and jokes about the stereotypical german, well and you can imagine what happened during Normandy rounds.
Am I offended by this? Not really, sometimes I even join in with semi-funny, actual german chatter.

Humor is something highly subjective and often aims at stereotypes. I for one am glad that people are joking a lot in PR, it makes the the game much more entertaining between the firefights.

Oh UN is such a troll. Painted those vehicles white so when French put up the white flag enemy thinks its part of their equipment and keeps shooting.

As for the other nations being mocked as well, you got to be kidding, it happens what, once on every 50 games or post...

I remember it happening a bit when really just about any new faction is added, from Canadian jokes(that went away) to allah akbar in texts that still can be seen with ins. It will probably mostly be gone in the next month or so when french levels get played enough everyone is annoyed at the jokes.

Yeah seen it a lot. What sucks, is most of it is so stupid and childish, some guy makes a surrender joke like he is the first to do it and thinks he is hilarious.

Makes me wish there was a way to wipe the chat when you see people saying this stuff. Sure, its funny in its moments when its appropriate. But just every map with FF on it... just no. Please shut up and get off my screen :3

Lol, it happens every game. You just don't notice it becouse it's not about your country.

Yeah I thought about that afterwards... Probably what will happens. Except maybe on the UN maps, with the white vehicles, but at least it'll be somewhat justified.

Anyway, for the sake of my country, tone it down with the surrender jokes, I travelled a lot and we're not a very loved people around the globe, there are a million jokes about us, be creative. The surrender and white flag one are old, over used, boring, sometimes offensive.

Played about 5 rounds with FF too and the jokes were on every single time, and it often lasted the entire round, regularly. I can assure you at some point it gets on your nerve.

And I know I'm not the only one being annoyed with those, since there are often messages trying to make them stop in the chat. But whenever someone join the server, the same jokes appear again.

People will be like that. As far as I see it, let them do the jokes especially the offensive ones as it just shows them to be the immature morons that they are.

To stop with the french jokes we would need to stop with the tea jokes (UK), the fat Jokes (US), the suicide bombers jokes (INS) the jew jokes (IDF) (oh wait apparently this is racism so is a ban), the mother land jokes (RUS) the new black jokes (that new faction) (oh wait racism again), and ze german jokes (GER).

Yap I agree anyone gets tired of hearing the same jokes but making a "I don't give a fuck" thread is well giving a fuck, pardon my French, but it is.

So endure yourself and resist the jokes.

I would just start a "jokes" thread about different countries to stress things out, and to unload all the jokes here, not in-game, besides I'm quite curious about jokes I may not have the knowledge about

It was my initial idea, but the ban hammer was too threatening...

Also turista, I don't see how you could think this is a "not giving a fuck thread", clearly I do "give a fuck".. What's your logic behind that?

I endure the jokes pretty well, since my birth, and since I travelled a lot across the globe my entire life, I can assure you I endured more French jokes than the average people will all along their life. But the amount of them and the repetitiveness has reached a ridiculous level on PR, hence this rant "I give a fuck" thread.

You can't be further from the truth. I travelled a lot too, and trust me there is no hate towards the French. Some people tend not to take the French seriously, but that's not hate. Some of the most interesting and inspiring people I met in my life were French.
If you want to learn the real hate, you need to be born German, or American, or Russian. Sadly there does exist lots of hateful prejudice towards the three. But French.... you are lucky to be one.
