"Your CD-key is not valid" - HELP!

I own Battlefield 2 legally through Steam, and I own Project Reality v1.0 through Desura. I was able to play it perfectly well yesterday. Today, however, I was going to play it again and downloaded an update. After it was downloaded, I started the game and tried joining a server, but it told me that my CD key wasn't valid. I tried some solutions I found on these forums, but they didn't work. I eventually tried reinstalling Battlefield 2 and Project Reality, but when I started the former, it told me the same thing that Project Reality told me: "Your CD-key is not valid"! HELP! What am I supposed to do to make Battlefield 2 and Project Reality playable again?!

Please? Anyone? I've tried editing the key in my registry, but it didn't work. What am I supposed to do? Do I need to get a new key somehow?
