I am just wondering what is wrong with the severs that they keep on crashing over and over again? I have not played one full game to the end in 5 hours of been on tonight

*NWA* always does, try ]CIA[ or =H= sir, you will not be disappointed, played six hours straight without a single crash!

Some server providers are just better than others, CIA and =H= have the most stable servers in my opinion.

It's not so much as the provider as the individual setups. Everybody has something a little different on their server, so stability changes with it as well

BigD is amazing. Only seen 1 server crash the whole time I have played there. Wonderful.

Who knows. Some providers have servers that can handle the amount of data 100p requires.
Prta is stable. CIA I notice crashing

If that's the case then why don't the admins post their setups on here to let other server admins know how to set it up right? I spoke to someone on NWA and they told me they where trying different things to stop it crashing. I am sure they would be all ears if someone with a stable server told them how to set it up right.

There is a lot of sharing going on in the server admin area. I do my best to help people setting up a stable server.
But there is actually not that much you need to do. Just get a powerful server, use the recommended Operating Systems and do a fresh and clean 1.0 server installation.
Many server admins tried to merge their server with old 0.98 files and that only causes errors.

We expect server to be more stable in the future. With additional small patches we also fix some of the known CTD and crash issues.

i would like to echo what Bloody has said. A lot of server providers are working hard to get servers as stable as we can. we all provide servers just like the DEVs provide this MOD free to download and play. In the server admin forum their is a lot of sharing of info going on.

It has even led NwA to totally start from scratch with a new OS and set up of the BF2 R server files. Also a change in use of admin commands across all PR servers from the clans running them. The wrok is being done on all fronts including the updates by the DEV team.

Using this info NwA and many other providers are now getting 4-5 rounds with out crashing. NwA ran all day from morning to late afternoon only shutting off the server to do the update. Then I was not able to restart mumble due to a oversight with user rights on the server, my fault.

Stick with it. It will get better.
