Hey guys!
My clan is roughly new to the whole PR scene and have been looking to install a dedicated server on a VPS we run. So I have 2 questions for you guys:
-What ressources will this vps need to dedicate in order to run a 100player server?

-I saw this application to process to get the server files and noticed what seemed to explained, a running server of BF2 needs to be available for the application to be read?

We're looking to get alot of people to start playing PR and hopefully we can provide another high quality server for the community to enjoy, we're also interested in these community events, maybe we can organize one!

Anyway, hope some of you can answer these questions!

You probably have shared/or very limited resources on VPS so in short it wont work.

Do you run any other games/servers on it? Whats your plan? Do you know specs?

Well thats pretty nice setup if its true. It can run PR server for sure. You need to apply for license to get the server files though, they are not available in public. Once you get your license granted you will get access to private server admin sections of forums and all the guides and troubleshooting if you stumble upon some.

Apply for license here >>

You must have vanilla BF2 server 1.5 up and running or the license will not be granted to you. You also need to register your server on gametracker or similar tracking sites.

BF2 Dedicated Server 1.50 - Linux (Build 1.5.3153)

Good luck.

I forgot to mention how afraid I am that those are virtual cores and not the actual physical cpu cores. You'll see when you fire it up though. If you can get a bit higher frequency on those cores. 3+ Ghz would be very nice.

Also BF2 server is not "multicore ready" - it will burn only one core, so make sure not to assign any other processes to a core you have bf2/pr assigned to. But youll get to know more about it once you get your license.

We are planning on running a few other things along with it, make sure to note that.
