I was flying the Huey on Muttrah and was delivering a supply crate for a friendly squad in the suburbs (near south city). I dropped flares all over the city but i still got hit when i was dropping the crate... i tried to get back to the carrier, but before i even got a little altitude, my rotors just stopped. I managed to land safely and get out of the chopper, which soon exploded afterwards.

I was now alone in South City, far behind enemy lines. My plan was to try to get back to the squad that i just gave a supply drop and get a pickup from the other pilot. There was an enemy squad nearby though, because I heard them shooting at my chopper while i was going down.

I took a slow and careful route back to the suburbs, hoping i would not encounter any enemies. I did encounter a truck and an enemy soldier though. I shot him with the M9 and tried to take his kit. "YOU CANNOT USE THIS KIT". Oh right 1.0 change.

So still with my pilot kit, i managed to get back to the squad. We moved to the Construction yard where i requested a pickup from my squadmember... I popped red smoke, he landed...i thanked the squad for helping me get out and got in the chopper...who took of.

Suddenly my screen turns black and i see the sentence:
"YOU CANNOT OPPERATE THIS VEHICLE POSITION".... oh SHIT!... i quickly pressed all F-buttons hoping that another seat would be safe to use but...... YOU ARE DEAD.... great.

Hahahahahaha, that's awesome but silly. Sometimes all laws of PR just work against you haha.

Happened to me aswell... So anticlimatic when you die while getting actually rescued.

If only there was another way to implement kit and vehicle restrictions than just killing the player

Same thing I watched as CO to a downed CAS pilot, I was lazing and working very closely with him so saw instantly that he'd jumped. Had a helicopter nearby so using markers the helicopter found him after dropping smoke while parachuting, the helicopter had to hang about while he was still in the air so he hops on, after we both forgot to DROP PILOT KIT and death.

Why is ist restricted anyways?

Ye I've had this happen to me a few times which is really annoying. You just need to remember to drop your kit and pickup an unarmed one before jumping in which you need to do at the last second too otherwise you could run into an enemy unarmed

Because a whole squad would take the pilot kit, load up into a chopper, fly up super high over a strategic location and like little ninjas would then bail out and with their pistols take out the location

Although it isn't so bad now with you not being able to knife radios you could still kill an enemy Breacher or Engy on the point and place his C4 on the FO etc.

You could have just dropped your pilot kit
