When i put in my correct bf2 username -- aidansmasher -- PR:mumble 1.0.0 tries to connect me to the official project reality server. However, it fails to connect and repeats in an infinite loop never to succeed.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but i want this to be answered b/c PR:mumble is a big deal in PR:BF2

PR:mumble 1.0.0.4 Beta is no longer used. This servr no longer exists: mumble://mumble.realitymod.com:64739/?version=1.2.0

A new version of PRMumble is inside the PR 1.0 download .iso .
when you click Play in PRLauncher will now automatically launch PRMumble in the background.

Inside PRLauncher, there is also a PRMumble tab where you can adjust keybinds as needed.

thank you for the information however since i am quite new i have another question/problem.

in the launcher i updated to 1.0.35.0 but my mumble stayed as the old version.

where can i find the new version of mumble in the 1.0(29 or 35) iso. i see setup, autorun, dependencies, and a bunch of .bin's

edit: if i go to settings and launch mumble it will open "project reality mumble" but doesnt do anything from there.

You don't need to open or update Mumble. Just launch PR and everything will happen automatically.

that is exactly my problem. i open PR launcher, i press play to open the game and mumble doesn't open. (its not in the background either)

if i go to the settings i can open mumble via the "LAUNCH" button but it doesnt connect anywhere.

PRMumble will automatically launch in the background after you fully load into a PRMumble enabled server (which is pretty much all of them at this stage).

thats my problem PRmumble never opens once i'm in a PR server i can't hear anyone talk in squad or local or whatever voice chat. and when i alt tab pr mumble isn't in the background open

Is the the PRLauncher launched as an administrator?

yep it is fully updated and running as administrator

Anyone managed to find a fix for this??

On some servers at sometimes, mumble doesn't work correctly since there is a server-side problem, but for most servers and most times it should be functional.

Have you uninstalled the old mumble yet? It's useless because all servers have switched to the new PR 1.0 and that mumble will only work for .97 servers, and that mumble has so far been switched to the new one.

It would be probably best to retrieve the account and start new. Write down your username, then delete your PR folder via Documents\Battlefield 2\Project Reality, uninstall PR 1.0, reinstall and then open PR 1.0.

Firstly, update PR by clicking on the 'V' and pressing update. Go back, make yourself tea, coffee, 5 minutes. Then when you updated it, restore your profile.

To restore, click on the '\/' next to Play => Select Profile => Manage Profiles => Retreive Existing Gamespy Account => Accept => Retrieve either by email or username. In this case, you know your username, so click on that, enter your name and pass then click retrieve.

This 'Should' work because I had the same problem and I fixed it this way. Let us know how you went.

When I join a game sometimes it doesn't connect right. I see a grey cone with a red thing through it on the bottom-right. To fix this just ALT-TAB and right-click the mumble icon in the task bar and click 'exit'. It will then restart automatically and usually connects and works from there. Just ALT-TAB back in and it works!!

I have windows 8 and i am experiencing the exact same problems. If anyone could give me a tip it would be much appreciated. Also do not buy win 8.

I really hope somebody here can resolve my mumble problem.
I've installed PR2 and when it comes to configuring mumble it crashes every time I press the "launch" button. I've uninstalled and installed three times already and the same thing is happening. I'm at a loss here and could really use some help in fixing this.

If anybody can please assist I would appreciate hearing from you.

What do you mean by the 'launch' button? As in the launch PR button?

When PR is first launched the main splash window appears with the options Play, Manual, Options, Support etc. When I select "option" a new window appears with multiple tabs i.e. Video, Graphics... PR Mumble etc. When I select the "mumble" tab I now need to press the "launch" button to access the settings page. As soon as I press "launch" the configure window appears but it's blank (no options or text appearing in it at all) and a second window appears in the middle of my screen telling me that "Project reality mumble has stopped working". I can't configure mumble in order to use it online. I can access the game itself but I'm mute.

Any ideas?

Try starting PRMumble.exe directly from windows explorer.

It's located at BF2\mods\pr\bin\PRMumble\PRMumble.exe

Also, try giving PRMumble.exe administrator rights , right click , Properties, compatibility, 'Run as administrator, click apply.

Thanks for your suggestion. I did what you said and still nothing. I did get a message stating "compatibility: win xp (service pak 3)"

It seems like PR2 doesn't like Win8

Open Windows Sound config panel by right-clicking on the speaker icon in Taskbar or going to control panel instead. Select Record tab and right-click on the device u are using for mumble/pr and click Properties. Go now to Advanced tab and deselect both checkboxes in the Exclusive Mode group. Try starting PRMumble now. Do the same for ur playback device if it keeps on crashing at start.

Thanks for your suggestion however, nothing changed. I have no idea what's going on here so I think I'll just leave PR and move to something different. It's been 3 weeks and nothing I do fixes this problem.
