Did somebody cook up an aviation training map for 1.0?

Doesn't test airfield still work OK, I'm sure I've seen it on the list.

He probably means a map that would allow him to practice flying in hard terrain, between cover, landing in forest with short view distance and/or hard aproach etc

Well to get that your probably best off loading a map in local, for chopper flying at least which is what I take your referring to since your talking about forests and landing

But ye, Test Airfield was a basic map for testing new jet code which people decided would be good for a "training map" but ye, its main purpose always has been a basic testing map, hence the name of it

If anyone wants to make a better map, or even touch up test airfield with more detail etc they are more than welcome to

Nah all I need is a map with most air assets on it and short spawn times. Test airfield sounds promising, I did not see it when trying to launch a local game.

Well, practice in Local..

I recommend: Learning to fly quickly in cities of course... Mootrah.
Flying in Forest(s): Wanda Shan, Silent Eagle, Iron Ridge, ect...
Landing in Hilly Terrains.... Pretty much most maps with Helicopters

I sort of recommend playing Co-Op with a trans chopper.... It actually helps believe it or not!


Just make sure you don't join a public server and crash a chopper.
