When selecting the rock, it has the sound of the ring playing like when you select a grenade.

This is in the civilian kit by the way in Insurgency Faction. A rock is 100x less important than other issues, but just bringing it up if it isn't on the bug tracker.

Probably because technically speaking, the rock IS a grenade-at least in the game code. The only difference is that it doesn't explode.

Actually, it does explode. It just deals no damage and has virtually no radius when it does explode. You can test this by dropping a rock onto a metal object, it'll dink when it hits, and when it disappears, it dinks again. If you do it right, you can suppress yourself doing this.
