Its saddening that ArmA dudes have to come over and do an intro video, which out of all communities we have, there is none.
There is some mistakes, but hey, they delivered in a month something we, who know the game down to the bone, could never in a few years, pretty much.

There have been numerous "how to" videos on previous versions of PR and I'm sure there are videos for 1.0 already. But this one just attracts more attention.

Nonetheless it's a great initiative .

But still far from "saddening" and "we could never in a few years".

I had made a massive (too long) one for .96, can't say we couldn't be arsed to do our own

Just didn't get around to it for 1.0. But luckily, we have community members like the guy who made the ShackTac video

All you do is complain Heavy Death. How about you go ahead and make a video like that yourself?
What stops you from doing so?
Skill? We all had to start somewhere?
Time? We all have family/GFs/uni/jobs, it's just a matter of priorities.

This is indeed something that should have been done for 1.0 but there was simply nobody with capacities to do so.
While it surely would be better if it comes from the PR team itself it's easily doable by external members as you can see.
Show some initiative if you really wanna improve PR, this is how every single one of us became a PR team member.

Arma dudes?

After playing one round of PR it is a PR dude.
And someone deciding to make a video about PR just shows me he is one of the PR community because he apparently likes PR enough to even make a video about it

It does not make any sense to do how-to videos of 1.0 yet. Alot of stuff keeps changing due to the frequent updates. Wait till updates cool down and then start making videos of how things work.

DEVs/Teams have other stuff to do, this is in no way directed to them.

Not complaining, all credit to ST/Oakley for the initiative. Its only ironic because of the "this is PR, you go play your little glorified walking sim Arma" types of conversation that has been going on these forums.

I like this one more than the others, just because it's short and straight to the point.. Although the others did a good job, I'm still not arse-licking ShackTac

There have been a handful of instructional videos on youtube made by various community members over the years. You must have missed them, but most of them served their purpose by helping new comers have an easily accessible and easy to follow learning tool at their disposal.

The big difference here is the number of potential viewers Dyslecxi has. I am really glad to seem the ShackTac guys have taken to PR, and I am even more happy to see the number of views their PR 1.0 videos have.

Keep up the good work Dyslecxi and friends, thanks for sharing our beloved game with everyone who watches your videos.

Despite a few inaccuracies, it's a great video tutorial for new players. I don't see a problem.

Between Slorg, myself and no doubt other people, there are lots of tutorials out there.

It's excellent that this one will get lots of hits and being made by a relative newcomer means that the information is more useful than someone trying to remember what it was like when they started.

I'd much rather see a video like this received as "oh hey, something else to help boost PR with!" than repurposed to insult the PR community as the OP has done.

Great initiative. Some minor mistakes here and there but they are just small things.

Also i dont get op. The maker of the video is a pr community member just like you and me. So in a way a PR community member did this video. It doesnt matter if he belongs to another community aswell.
