Been playing 1.0 fine on weekends, come back home after 1 week without playing it
and this comes up



If i clicked skip and launch anyway this would come up



so i looked around the forum tried a bunch of stuff and at last reinstalled pr 1.0
so during the updates this comes up




how do problems occur even though the computer was untouched for a week...

Your support and help is of utter importance and i will be gratefull... been playing this
for ages.

I have this exact same problem! Someone please help?

It means what it says. Possible reasons:

- server down for maintenance
- something is blocking your connection to verification server ( firewall/router )
- your ISP has routing issues
- verification server was too busy so it dropped your request

For the time, try again in different times of day, if it fails, try turning off all security software/hardware - DMZ your PC temporary - and then try, and if that fails youll need IP of verification server which I dont know so you can try a tracert to it or for contacting your ISP and asking him to check for routing problems in DNS.
