Anyone playing this on Laptop since 1.0 came out? I was able to play it fine before 1.0 and now my fps goes to 20s at times when i am on the move (stays at 60 when i am not moving). Anything I can do to fix it?

I bought Clevo P150em with Core i7 3630qm (2.4ghz) and ati radeon hd 7979m.

If i were to buy another Laptop, what specs should I get to play this smoothly? Thanks

thats actually a pretty good laptop, you shouldn't have problems based on your hardware maybe its some other issue.

No, I play on low settings with 100% view distance and sweetFX. I manage 20-25 frames with that. Could probably have something better if I didn't have sweetFX but I'm too lazy to remove it.

Maybe you have malware running in the background, outdated drivers, or just too many open processes.

1.7GHz is quite low :O

Ram doesn't mather that much on BF2, it can only use 3.25GB (?) of RAM.

Your laptop is fine, upper mid-range GPU and the CPU is good enough too.

you should look into Catalyst Center of your AMD card, they have these useless tweaks that can make your games run slower (forced AA and AF).

Try lowering the settings in the this Catalyst Center and disabling some 3D things

Performance in PR can be more increased by a good "max ghz" CPU than by a high end GC, from my experience.

That is a superb laptop, but has driver issues.
Download the reference drivers for the 7970m GPU
download the Clevo drivers for the Intel HD3000 iGPU.
Make sure to add BF2PR.exe to the AMD CCC

I'm using a Lenovo Ideapad y500 with:
i7-3630qm
nvidia GT 750m
8gb ram.

The thing that helped me the most FPS-wise is using a program called Throttlestop. if I force Turbo and turn off any throttling using that program, performance significantly increases. (make sure you monitor your temperatures. Without Throttlestop, my temps stay around 80C, but with Throttlestop it goes up to 88-90C which is still safe. PR is CPU bound (for modern hardware). Also look into gamebooster. Also, even with turbo-boost, some maps still get low fps, especially with 100 players.

I have done these. They are up to date. Could my cpu be bottlenecked?

you could use throttlestop for 3630qm?

Your CPU is the bottleneck

Yes, throttlestop works.

I'm running an ASUS M50VC.

Intel Centrino 2 P8400 @ 2.23Ghz
2 GB of RAM
Nvidia 9300M GPU with 1GB dedicated I think (maybe 512mb).

I struggle on some newer maps, everything low. Most older PR maps work alright.
An upgrade is definitely needed sometime soon.

Or use NASA's super computer! XD

My buddy of mine has a Quad Core 3.70GHz, with a poopy GC.
He has a ATI Radeon HD 3450.... (Old card)

I played on it, and it tends to run a smooth 60+fps. 42fps in Intense firefights.
31fps in heavy smoke.
