Mumble bug. Can hear EVERYONE

Weird little bug just started today.

I can now hear everyone on my team in mumble. Everyone talking at once.

Ran PR as admin. Didn't work.

Restarted both mumble and PR. Didn't work.

Switched servers. No bueno.

I just recently switched headsets to a wireless one. Doubt that would have anything to do with it.

Have you tried with the old headset again, by chance?

Well I've the same problem with my own mumble (it's quite a pain to have everyone talking at the same time you're trying to play correctly).
I've a bluetooth headset cause my game headset is dead but I didn't thought it'd be the cause of my bug (the sound device "steam" doesn't seems to me a real threat isn't iit?)

Anyway, I'll try with another headset and will say here if it change something for me :)

Tried reinstalling PR and it didn't fix the problem.

Can still hear any one talking to anybody in there squad or squad leaders talking to other squad leaders.

Try deleting the "%appdata%\Project Reality\Project Reality Mumble" folder, and the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Project Reality\PR Mumble" registry key.

must have deleted the wrong file and folder.

I now have no mumble whats so ever.

I'll do a uninstall and reinstall of PR again.

I actually noticed I can't do anything with mumble.

I can't mute myself or anyone. I can right click on things but if I left click it does nothing.

Ok I can mute myself by using the top buttons.

I can't though just right click on my name and do it or to anyone else.

I recently bought a wireless headset too, and i also hear everyone talking on my team wherever i am in a map.

When i plug my old wired headset back in it works fine.

Anyone else have this problem ?

In short, Logitech's wireless (and a few USB wired models) that are marketed as 'virtual surround sound', be it 5.1 or 7.1 virtual surround sound, have Logitech software that simulates audio positional data before sending it to the headphones. That software layer does not work/interact correctly with the Mumble positional audio software.

You can disable simulated surround sound in the Logitech G software on this screen:

The other option that Logitech Tech Support suggests is to "Exit the Logitech Gaming Software from the system tray" when playing Flight Simulator X, which also suffers from this problem. http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Headphone ... -p/1059871

OK, just tried the G430's on an externally powered USB hub with no other devices on it.

Basically the same thing happens as before.

With the LGS installed and on 7.1 it will cut out after about 30 minutes when using mumble and a game at the same time.

If I switch it to 2.1 mode. It doesn't cut out at all or at least for the 3 hours I played BF3. However the voices in mumble will only come out of the right ear speaker in the headset when on 2.1 in LGS.

When I uninstalled LGS and removed all drivers and just used the generic drivers from Windows. It only does 2.1 of course and Mumble and BF3 sound WONDERFUL. Way better than any of my other headsets. And it NEVER cuts out at all. And in Mumble the voices come out of both ears as they should. So I can confirm to the best of my knowledge that this is LGS driver related as SOLIDAge says.

As for now I am leaving the LGS uninstalled and enjoying the headset at 2.1 which does sound really good.

I really hope they can fix the driver so we can use the Dolby 7.1 which sounds great when it works.

Also, I tried all of the Mumble things suggested by daleLogi and that does not seem to do anything about the issue. I am sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Good luck on a fix!

Also, this isn't a PR problem, a BF2 problem, a TS3 problem, or a mumble problem.
It's really bad software from Logitech that is the source here.

just leaving here that with my G930 I need to have Dolby enabled to have 3D mumble, else I'll get a weird effect.
