When I attempt to run pr.exe launcher, it starts up, goes to black screen, then right back to desktop. i bought Bf2 yesterday on Origin for this mod please help! Any ideas?

Welcome to PR,

Does vanilla BF2 online multiplayer work?

Start vanilla BF2, login, join an online multiplayer server. Shoot a gun to make sure it works.
Adjust your audio and video options now.
Save options.
Exit vanilla BF2.

Start PRLauncher, click Options, Click Reset Profiles, click Yes.
Click Play, import your vanilla BF2 profile
play PR, to test.

Let us know if this works.

Also, what antivirus do you use?

AVG is blocking PRLauncher and PRUpdater.
To test, completely shutdown AVG and try to contact http://prbf2.cdn.ancientdev.com/hashes_1.0.36.0.prhf , it should prompt you to download a file hashes_1.0.36.0.prhf . *This file will change name as PR publishes new releases, such as hashes_1.0.37.0.prhf , hashes_1.0.38.1.prhf etc

If with AVG completely shutdown, and you can then download this file, we know it's AVG blocking the PRLauncher and PRUpdater. causing the PRLauncher to return the Error 1301.
'[R-COM wrote:LITOralis.nMd;1955840']Instructions
  1. Open AVG Internet Security from the Start Menu. You can find it by hovering your mouse over "All Programs."
  2. Double-click "Firewall" to launch the firewall settings.
  3. Click the "Profiles" link on the left, then "Computer in domain," then "Applications."
  4. Click "Add."
  5. Click the "..." button next to "Path" and navigate to the program that you want to allow access to.
    Add the following programs:
    • "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 2 Complete Collection\PRBF2.exe"
    • "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 2 Complete Collection\mods\pr\bin\PRLauncher.exe"
    • "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 2 Complete Collection\mods\pr\bin\PRUpdater.exe"
For each of the programs above, Select it and click "Open." Click the "Application action" drop-down menu and select "Allow for all." Click "Apply," and then "OK" to save the firewall settings and allow your program.

where must i place hashes_1.0.36.0.prhf ?
You do not need to actually download the file. You just need to be able to access the PR file server the file is hosted on, to make sure you can update your files.
strange i start PR after i allowed in AVg its updating immediately why?
This is Good! The PR Developers made updating automatic, so no one has to worry about downloading patches. You do have to update to newest patch 1.0.36.0 to play online.

I believe we should lower your video and graphics settings:
Open PRLauncher
Click Options
Click Video Tab
set the resolution to 800x600@60Hz
Click Apply.
Click the Graphics Tab
lower all of the options to Low.
Click Apply.

Here is a list of optimization options you can try to get better performance on your PC, all of these optimization will make all games run faster.

3. Download Bitsum ProcessLasso Free. Make sure you download the correct version, Free 32 bit or Free 64 bit, Process Lasso - Automate and optimize process priorities, CPU affinities, power profiles, and more!
-- Start PR, alt tab to desktop, open ProcessLAsso window, right click on PR.exe, TR.exe, BF2.exe, PRMumble.exe and pnkbstra.exe and pnkbstrB.exe and give them default priority status of High, set the Tr PR and BF2 to gaming mode, and give them high or higher access to RAM.

'[R-COM wrote:LITOralis.nMd;1950343']1. Defrag the drive that has BF2 and PR installed.
PR has some very large compressed files, if they get fragmented it can cause this problem.

2. To go even further, make sure your pagefile is not fragmented.
Use a third party defrag program to do this.

5. Use DriverFusion by Treexy to completely uninstall your GPU drivers, then download new drives from Nvidia or AMD.
Driver Fusion - The Complete Device And Driver Solution

6. Use ProcessLasso Free Process Lasso - Automate and optimize process priorities, CPU affinities, power profiles, and more! to give the PRBF2.exe file a high priority and put it into gaming mode.

-- Start PR, JOIN AN ONLINE SERVER, alt tab to desktop, open ProcessLAsso window, right click on PRBF2.exe, PRLauncher.exe, and PRMumble.exe and pnkbstra.exe and pnkbstrB.exe and give them default priority status of High, set the PRBF2.exe to gaming mode, and give them high or higher access to RAM.
Unpark your CPU Cores in ProcessLasso->Options->Configure CPU Core Parking->UNpark your cores.

and turn off all the windows UI stuff, like windows shadows, mouse shadows, maximize windows animation, etc.

You will have to test to see which resolution provides the best balance between resolution and framerate,

the absolute maximum you can run is 1360 x 768 @ 60 Hz

Enjoy the game, see you on the battlefield!

1360 x 768

UNLESS you have Full HD screen, then 1920x1080... :)
