100 Players server hurt PR

The more players there are on a server the less populated servers there are. I admit I was excited about the prospect of more than 64 players on a single PR map. Due to the sheer size of the maps. But the trade-offs are too punishing for both new and experienced players alike. The lack of nametags is the worst because it makes teamkills alot easier. It's not the dev's fault I know the BF2 engine can only be pushed so far, but the implemented solution is half-assed because it requires player correction for an inherit engine design flaw. Which results in slowed down combat and that takes PR; a very slow game already, into a new level of sluggishness.
Alot of new players are turned off by the extremely slow pace of combat. Alot of experienced players like myself are annoyed enough as it is and we're not going to be checking our map every 10 seconds to see if that's an enemy or friendly. Lastly, the biggest problem is that with 100 players the combat becomes intense; too intense, but it lasts much shorter now. Coupled with the other design changes to the Mod which I do not like it's hard to enjoy PR as much as I used to before.
What's the point of 100 players on a map when it's less fun than 64?
Personally I found .508 to be my favorite PR and .98 to be a close second. 1.0 ranks as low as .7 for me. I've played every PR release since .2.
