Anyone up for some .5?

I am. But, I need the client and server side files first. Does anyone know where I can find the files? I tried google but all links lead to the dead megaupload. If anyone can provide me with the files I'll be very grateful. I'll have 2 64 man servers up and running ASAP.

P.S. Server licensing began at .6

Why exactly? 1.0 is the best release full stop, im not just saying that in a sucking up to the Devs kind of way its just plain obvious. People need to stop there glorified pre1.0 memory's cloud there judgement if you think about it rationally how are any of the previous releases better then 1.0? Less weapons? less vehicles? less maps? Horrible deviation? Less layers? Less factions? Less kits? Worse coding? more glitchy gameplay? Less Mumble? Can someone please tell me what one of these factors make pre 1.0 releases funner because for me they sure dont seem like improvements.

Yeah seeing as most of your posts so far have been flame-baiting server feedback threads, don't think anyone with server files will help you out.

Isn't "Nostalgia trip" a good enough reason? Talk about over-analyzing...

as someone who started playing at .85 i would love to see the origins of this mod, might help some people appreciate the work the devs have done over the years :P perhaps someone with more time on their hands would be willing to get a .5 event together....

"Nostalgia is a seductive liar." If you play .5 you will just sour the memory.

I'd love to have have a few rounds of 0.5 as well.
If you get a full server, I'd give it a shot.

Heavy CAS on Basrah... that was fun (for bluefor at least)
Transport Choppers on ghost train, Jabal with mighty BlackHawks, Qwai river with Little Bird "spam" awesomeness, Gulf of Oman Invading fun with deployable quad AAs raping the 2 Cobras. Having attack markers over the whole map for direct spotting for the USS ESSEX Gatling. Or also effective for CAS or HATs.

Zatar Wetlands with CounterAttack mode.
Awh, the good old memories.

But yeah, today while we got used to later PR versions, it sounds a bit too overdriven. I would try it anyways.

If you're used to playing the latest version of PR, trust me... 0.5 will feel super vanilla to you.

Even though when 0.5 came out it was so advanced, it's nothing compared to PR today.

@waldov
Because I want too.

@Steeps
You mean providing feedback?

@Henrique_Dalben
Exactly.

@paul161616
I started at .2, .5 was my fave.

@camo_jnr_jnr
Dont ruin it for me.

@[R-DEV]K4on
You I like you. You understand me. I'd love nothing more than to fly an A-10 again.

@Stealth Clobber
Have you played it recently? If so gimme the client files!

Yeah I think I've got .5 or .6 on an old hard drive, don't really feel like transferring/uploading it though.

Worked for me, was able to install and run it. I think you need to re-name your current PR folder for it to install properly, otherwise I think it'll try to overwrite the 1.0 files.

'[R-DEV wrote:melonmuncher;1959183']Continue to practice your google-fu, young ones

Client : Battlefield 2 | Files | Project Reality .Client | Release | Project Reality | Modifications | Game Front
No need to practice if you already have it on a backup hard drive. ;)

Did the OP get the server file yet?

Bad news. I tried getting the server up but it wouldn't let me connect, and some vanilla maps crash both the client and server. I'm trying to find a BF2 patch 1.41 torrent to see if that will fix the bugs. AFAIK .5 works in SP and Local server but none of the vanilla maps work.
