When I start Project Reality BF2, the screen goes black for a few seconds the game closes and a small screen appears saying: Cleaning PR: BF2 Resources.

This keeps happening to me aswell!

This is a "graceful shutdown", meaning the game is working properly, but the settings are probably incorrect.

Run PR in windowed mode, then screenshot capture or write down the error message you get when the game crashes.

I was browsing through the support forum myself and found this thead. You might wanna take a look at it cause the problem seems the be the same. Also there's a solution in this thread.

Do you have overwolf? Especially with tacticam app's last update? Kill it, don't just close it but use CRT alt del and end it. Then retry.
