I dont know the top speed of the blackhawk, but i am pretty sure i have seen them fly much faster than they do in the game, even with the nose tilted as far possible they fly 1/4 the speed of the little birds (which may be the real ratio), but bf2 cant use alot of the real things to make the game work or be any fun.

Yeah...I THINK the devs are looking into this. This is a major embarrassment to the big strong mighty blackhawk. It should be much quicker. I think it should be a tad slower than the littlebird, and make the littlebird a bit quicker.

I also wish that the BH had some better MGs. Maybe add splash damage to the rounds or give better zoom or ROF or something. Insurgents should be quaking in their boots everytime they hear the BH approach. But instead it becomes nothing but a glorified personell transport. I mean, it shouldn't primarily be a gunship, but it should have that flexibility.

Actually I believe the Little Bird is one of the slowest helicopters in US military service because of the very small engine (in comparison to other helos that is). However due to less mass I believe it is a bit more agile.

The little birds really are crazy manuverable. Would love to see the Kiowa make an appearance as well, we always had either the Kiowa's or Apaches covering us on most missions over there.

Blackhawks are MUCH more agile than in the game. You should be able to tilt them much quicker.

Sorry to dissapoint, but BH's are going to be down gunned (on most maps, apparently) to a par of M240 GPMGs.

hah there was like a group of 7 enemies on a hill on a map today and i was BH gunner and i must have put at least minimum 200 rounds into the group, never got a single kill...

Blackhawk?
yeah its too slow for what i should be, but i mean look at the flying cow!
It flies like a daddy long legs!(Badly).
Plus what realy needs changing on it(if possible) is the turning caperbilities of the mounted 50cals. You can barely turn them anywhere.
Also, the MEC scout chopper needs to be looked at, its worthless.
...mongol...

The guns can't be toned down on the BlackHawk, in terms of reality, the BH has some crazy splash dammage, but on the game they are strong but you must score a direct hit. I'm not asking for a splash range of 40ft, but something a little bit bigger then now.

No, because in reality unless its a 160th Night Stalker Uh-60 its not going to have the gattling gun, its going to have a pair of M240's.

But aren't the guns on the BH now, gattling guns? I was basing that statement on that.

They are, which is unrealistic for an average BH, which is why they are being changed.

I just don't like the guns on the cow and ones that are going to be put on blackhawk have no feel to them. you would be able to aim them and hit stuff with them irl.

i have...the M134 miniguns that it had were fucking insane, NOTHING like they are in the game, IRL a simple flyby would shread apart a section of troops on the ground

IRL they don't really have any splash damage per se, they fire the 7.62mm round... just at either 2000 or 4000 rounds per minute. Problem here being that I think BF2 has a ROF cap of 1800. One of the fixes for this IS actually splash damage though, to simulate having fired more rounds.

don't you guys think the LB is a little too quick? I mean the rate of acceleration and movement changes that it can do now would cause one the think that it would pull itself off of its rotors. could just be me but its still a fragile aircraft, and I would think very few rounds from any MG even squad level would drop it as its not armoured. Engines don't like bullets.
Oh and the BH's max speed is approximately 222Mph
the LB is only around 175Mph
So the black hawk can actually cruise faster, not as nimble but faster.
