Kill Report

I've noticed that PR seems to be attracting a lot of cheaters and I think the reason for that is the lack of the who killed who. without the Killreport cheaters can use very obvious hacks like because the people that they are shooting can't identify them and report them, and usually players arn't watching there own teammates to see if they are cheating. I think the best way to fix this is to add the kill report back into PR.

Most definately not. IRL you don't get a message pop up beside you telling you the guy 1km down the road that you lobbed a grenade at is dead.

That feature IMO is a major draw for PRM. The kill report is silly in game.
If you suspect cheating, review the battlecorder files. the names all show up in there.

I think it is much more interesting when you don't know if you killed that guy 100m away you were shooting at. You are playing much more cautiously all the time.

the only way to know if someone is really hacking is to have PB detect the hack on there pc, or have a PBSS taken and then you can see from the SS if they are hacking or not.
seeing if a guy killed you and you going "he killed me, he must be a hacker!" is not going to get you anywhere...

How many servers do you think have currently managed to get Battlerecorder working in PR?
very few, I'm sure.

It aint hard to get BR on a server, it just takes up a load of CPU and bandwidth.

Ugh. Another, please add *insert vBF2 feature* to PR thread.
No, thanks.

LOL. I'm gathering that the answer is NO. However I feel that I must atleast try to put up a bit of an argument

Except you can verify kills by keeping track of your kill count in the tab menu

I suppose that would work except 1. most servers don't have BR. and 2. by the time you've downloaded the file and found the person's name there usually long gone and there is very little the server admin can do about it.

No but usually admins listen when they have an single guy wipe out an entire squad with 6 shots while running across the street and under fire from said squad. (happened last Saturday)
All I'm trying to say is the kill report was a key tool for admins trying to catch cheaters and without it it has become very hard to identify the people you suspect of cheating. I've never seen aimbots turned up as high as I have in PR for the simple reason that the cheaters know I can't identify them. I know that people are going to kill me be it a lucky shot or not, but I can also usually spot an aimbot when a person is being careless about how he uses it.

Actually, in my experience I've found that most hackers do return. PRMM is a very small community and there are very few populated servers. Chances of the hacker returning at some point the next day or day after is high... and if you learn who the admins are for those servers, you can get in touch with them to set up a watch.
It would be nice if admins could have PBSSs taken automatically for users who's names they specify.
I've encountered a hacker by the name of CAEDES06.. when threatening to report him he made a new name, "tehjackel" and gave himself away to me via conversation in game that he was CAEDES06.. he's certain that he can't get caught. Now after several weeks of his presence in the game AND EVEN MORE NAMES.. he now created the name.. [PR]Maistro in probable hopes to piss people off in game and have them later think it was me... too bad he forgot the whole "[PR]RFAD|" and the maistroS.
=)
So i've been trying to get in touch with admins and keep them updated on suspected hackers. The more I can relay information to the admins, the more likely they are to catch and report these hackers.

Keep it how it is.
What i find annoying is that 75% of the PR community are colour blind.
Cant they tel the difference between Brown and Tan?
TAN= AMERICA
BROWN= CHAIN/MEC
...mongol...

in real life you dont know who killed you, but you also dont have the enemy cheating... (hope not anyways.) so just watch your team, check up on the guys that seem to get 20 kills within the minute etc...

If I was getting shot at in real life, I would cheat in every way possible to kill the other guy. But that's just me. Anyways, I think tha I would rather live with a few cheaters that are hard to prove, than deal with the vBF2 kill spam. I love the fact that I have to go investigate if the guy I plugged was actually dead or not.
If I just die at some point, I generally think a sniper got me. Not someone shot me through a wall or something. Not that I'm suggesting that anyone gets shot and then assumes people hack.

NO!
and hopefully the scoreboard will be disabled during the game in the next patch.
