[HELP] Divide Image CS

Running CS2 (yeah yeah don't laugh). I want to divide a colormap into 12x12 pieces, so by my math its 6144x6144. When I go to slice it seems to want to constrain what I can do it by, but it doesn't have anyone that I can find to stop it from doing that.

Image

I have tried both number of slices and by pixels, but I can not get what I want. Has anyone done this before and found a way around this?

I was following this tutorial.

What is the dimensions of this source file? is it actually 6144 by 6144 pixels ?
CS2 programmers failed math class?

One Slice trick is to create first
1 single slice of the entire image
then
go back and right click the slice (the blue background 00 handle)
then slice it again, into your 12 x 12 slices.

You can export and save layers as individual files using a few different ways... Choose File > Scripts > Export Layers To Files btw to save time.

do not use the "save for web" option found in many tutorials though, it will degrade quality.

I had 2, one at 8192 that I lowered to 6144 so I could get 512x512 res in 12x12 squares. I then tried my 4096 without a resize, just trying to get them into 12x12, that wont work either.

Just did it 6x6 then 2 by 2 in each of the cuts, that did it, thanks for your help!

Woah- don't say that. CS2 is great! The newer photoshops are good, but you don't need all the extra bells and whistles to make good content. I don't think anyone would care if you're using mspaint- it's all about the end result.
