I got a new SSD and HDD today and proceeded with installing Windows 8 as well. Went to install BF2 from CD and they were cracked. I bought it on Origin and it came fully updated, etc. I ran vanilla like your installation guide says to, and it was fully patched to 1.5. I could play in all of the servers, and the patch # in the bottom left corner of BF2 was correct...now I go to install PR and it says "Cannot confirm Battlefield 2 v1.5 has been installed..." etc.

How do I fix this? Will I just have to download the 1.5 patch anyways, and "patch" the game?

Worked fine from Steam. Origin strikes again!

have you rebooted your PC since you installed BF2? if not, do that.

Yes I have rebooted. Maybe I sort of messed it up. Origin seemed to update it to 1.5 without me having to do anything, but I had already downloaded the 1.41 patch and installed it anyways...so maybe somehow it thinks it is using the 1.41 patch? Regardless, 1.5 is almost done downloading and I'm going to try and just install that. Cause the 1.41 patch installed normal without problems.

you can not install 1.41 on top of Origin 1.5 .
You will need to reinstall Origina BF2 I think...

try the 1.5 patch you are downloading, but I think you need to start over.

In the Origin Client , you can check an option box to keep the installtion files after download. Check that.

do not use any patches on Origin installations of BF2 in the future.

It works fine now lol. I installed 1.5 manually
