.957 Single Player map pack in 1.1?

The simple question is, will it work? I would like to screw around with the Vanilla maps for a bit.. :-P My plan is to install .957, rename the 1.0 folder for a second, then take the map files directly out of .957 and put it in the PR1.0 folder, rename the .957 to PR957 and PR 1.0 back to the original..

Yes, but you'd need to update the init.con file with the new factions.

So go in notepad and copy+paste the new file data into the old file?

Open in notepad and change the faction spawners from the old format to the updated, which is just the name followed by "_sp" example
run ../../Factions/faction_init.con 2 "cf_sp_variant1"
would change to
run ../../Factions/faction_init.con 2 "cf_sp"

Yeah, it seems to crash before load when I fixed it.. Is there anything else you can do to help or are we going to call it DOA..?
Here is a sample of my sunset city data run ../../Factions/faction_init.con 1 "ch_sp"
run ../../Factions/faction_init.con 2 "usa_para_sp"

On the contrary, Qinling works gr8..

PS: I cant go .95, it will crash after the splash screen..

needs to be
run ../../Factions/faction_init.con 2 "usa_sp"
Only the germans have a para_sp version.

I got kinda bored and decided to fix Harvest. Instant CTD... It seems that the ones not originally with "Para" (excluding Harvest) on the faction crash. If you want, I can upload the files..?
run ../../Factions/faction_init.con 1 "ru_sp"
run ../../Factions/faction_init.con 2 "usa_sp" (used to be usa_para_sp)

nor does Hills

In the end some maps wont work right, I installed .973 and the ones not working in 1.1 are perfectly functional there..

Try running in windowed mode to see if you get an error message.

Is it likely a file that has been deleted in 1.0 that this map needs?

BTW, I agree with Murphy's RIP map thread comment\your sig, we tend to hold on to the memories of older versions tightly. If I were to go back and play .87, I would realize how bad the sound was, how much more low detail the weapons were, the deviation being a PITA and all the vBF2 elements of it, still hoping Qinling comes back :P ..

The best way I can think of to do this would be to find the sky texture referenced in the error in the 0.973 files and copy it into the client.zip of the map that needs it, keeping the same folder structure (so e.g. client.zip/common/textures/sky/wangou_sky04.dds).

A once in a while backto0.X event will do. Alright, I will copy everything missing into the 1.0 one..
