CTD on Startup

Hello! I had my monitor OC'd to 96hz and I'm getting this error upon launch.
I launch the game and it crashes on startup. I run windowed and I get this error.
I go back to 60hz and it launches fine.
BF2 vanilla ran fine with it on a higher frame rate.
How am I to enter enlightenment with GabeN with 60hz?

afaik the maximum value for PR/BF2 is 60 Hz... you gotta do that on 2560x1440 then... :/ (but should be completely fine!

)

DigitalRicky, I don't have a solution.
I want a solution, cause I'm looking at the Asus 120/144Hz monitors right now.
Hopefully someone will come along with answer.
I can give a ray of hope, there is a forum member Grey, who runs at 120Hz.

Are you using a dual DVI video cable?
This guy had same probem at 120Hz, and had to return to a HDMI cable to play PR:

Here's the solution for PR 0.981 , I think it shold still work:
You might need to manually edit two files:
Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default\video.con
and
Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001\video.con
I's guessing set it to this:
VideoSettings.setResolution 1920x1080@120Hz

In vanilla I was able to get higher framerate via the game.lockfps ## command.
And 60hz is so 2009 - Dis is da future!
Yes I have an Active Dual-DVI cable and it works fine in other games.
I tried this and it wouldn't work

Let's be more specific for your setup:
EDIT: The files below need to be edited, I had previously copy pasted an old file location from a old thread
You might need to manually edit two files:
Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles\Default\video.con
and
Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles\0001\video.con
and for each additional profile you use:
and
Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles\0002\video.con
and
Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles\0003\video.con
etc.
I's guessing set it to this:
VideoSettings.setResolution 2560x1440@96Hz

Yeah I had changed this, didn't work

Are you sure you're running at 96Hz ?
Are you running any type of overlay programs, like TS3 overlay, overwolf, RAPTR, Ventrillo, etc? Steam overlay also can cause a black screen CTD. Turn off ALL overlays.
If you want to narrow this down, revert your monitor OC, try PR. then swap to hdmi/dvi-d and try PR.
Would eliminate the hardware issue possibilities.
