1 - Lower your Effect settings
or
2 - Upgrade your PC

FPS drops are inevitable until the effects get fixed, nothing you can do but wait.

Getting a lot of drops on Yamalia it's quite frustrating. Someone with a lower end pc which the same graphics settings has double my FPS it's funny. saXoni is right.

I think the ambient smoke screens on yamalia (and other maps) really have a big impact on FPS. I noticed my FPS dropping alot (from 90 to like 40, while recording) when looking at burning stuff. You did some improvements to those effects since the latest patch. They did not take up that much resources previously. Same goes for burning wrecks of actual vehicles. I have no problems, I can live with the big FPS drop, since it does not really affect my gaming performance. But I can imagine players with low-end systems having issues with those big FPS drops.

The smokes effects from hand, grenade or vehicle have never been changed from 0.98. So that makes it a little weird. Should be the same when looking into vehicle smokes... No way to fix, besides to make the smoke unusable.
Just tested Yamalia aswell... No effects that even decreases my fps from 120.
Specs (wich now is old compare to all new hardware):
Intel I7 2600K
8GB 1600MHz Corsair Vengeance
P8P67 Deluxe

I am pretty sure the smoke screens are much denser now and stay in the air longer than before (Al Basrah is a good example, the smoke screens are now much lower in some places and touch the ground when being blown away, next to refinery...or am I only imagining this?) Might also be the flames causing it.
As said I do not have those drops everywhere. But on Kamisiyah for example, I get those 40 FPS drops in MEC main when watching at the ambient burning wrecks.

I get drops from usually 60-75 to 30-40 when an explosion or a fire starts in a destroyed vehicle (AMD 7970@1180\1650,
