Hello, I have played PR for years but I took a break for awhile until now and I installed everything correctly and the game starts. I created my in-game profile and put my graphics on max and pressed play and if I ignore the update suggestion I will be able to start the game but when i back out to update PR it shuts down, http://i.imgur.com/7Ya47Sa.png I press update and it opens a update window, then it shuts down and opens this window: http://i.imgur.com/3vHlYso.png. If I then try to open the updater by clicking PRupdater this shows up: http://i.imgur.com/NSmbmxO.png. and now i'm stuck, I have uninstalled PR a few times and lunched it as a administrator every time.

Let me see what we're dealing with inregards to Specs and software,
Open PRLauncher->Support->Click the Copy to Clipboard button.
Paste everything in a reply here.


In short, your firewall or antivirus or router is blocking PRlauncher from accessing the internet.
Let's make a quick test,

here is a link to the PR update server, it's a link to download the 1.1.0.0 to 1.1.1.0 patch.

Click on this link, and try to save it to your computer. Tell me if you can successfully access the server and download the file.

That's what happend.

And I can't access the PRluncher, it starts the update download but immediately shuts it down. I'm completely unable to access PRluncher, I click the luncher it starts this: http://i.imgur.com/WuakFic.png and shuts down.

Which insatllation .ISO file do you have?
the 1.0.29 .iso
or
the 1.1.0 .iso

?

IDK how you have the 1.1.0 registry key and then downloaded the 1.0.29 to 1.0.30 patch...

Go to C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Project Reality\Project Reality BF2\ and open the Downloads folder. Tell me if you got any .patchold files in it.

Honestly, might be easier to unisntall PR, reboot, and let's start again,
first tell me which .ISO you downloaded.

Then try to start PRlauncher.

That's what I downloaded

C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Project Reality\Project Reality BF2\ and open the Downloads folder.

delete everything in it.

How to show hidden files in Windows 7

appdata is a hidden directory. Follow the directions in the link , then delete the downloads directory.

Finally! made it, deleted the only file in the downloads folder. What do I do now master

Then try to start PRlauncher.

Hover your mouse over the Play button, a drop down menu appears, Select Update. It should update to 1.1.1 with the file you downloaded.

It started updating correctly but then I got another patch witch did the same thing and just closed down. But I got further this time

I removed PR completely and will try to download it again from scratch.

go to that window in your Windows Explorer, right click, Run as Admin the PRLauncher.
IDK what you've done.

Open Regedit and go here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Project Reality\Project Reality: BF2
There is a Key called Version.
After a clean install of the PR 1.1 iso you have, it should be set to 1.1.0.0
I think you might have it set to a incorrect version number.
Change the calue to 1.1.0.0 then try the updater again from the PRLauncher.exe located here:

At this point, turn off your firewall and antivirus,

save it to C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Project Reality\Project Reality BF2\Downloads\

Then open Windows Explorer, go to the directory here:

Then try to start PRlauncher.exe as an admin.

When you start PRlauncher, click Play, it will ask if you want to update. Click Yes.

It will automatically find the update in your updates directory and apply it.

I think that update is already installed, it's another one that makes it crash. As you can see there is already one there: http://i.imgur.com/qR56C4c.png
