heyho, i'm housing a dell poweredge r910 at home with the current bandwidth of 32 mbit downstream and 2mbit upstream.

The hardware is more than enough to host 5 PR servers, however my upload speed is very limited to 2mbit up. Will it be enough to host a 100slot server? If not, how many people could it hold aprox.?

cheers.

Not entirely sure, but I think each player needs like 64 to 128kb/s (that's the server's upstream). So according to that, maaaaybe 32 players. Most likely less.

PR Server License - Project Reality Forums
User Server License
User Licenses are for individual users, clans, and other small organizations who wish to host public and/or private (passworded) Project Reality Servers. By default, a single User License is allowed to add up to 3 game servers and 5 license moderators. These servers must be internet facing (i.e. respond to server queries), and hosted at a data-centre. We do not issue licenses for home hosted or LAN-only servers.

IMPORTANT: You must have a BF2 dedicated server running on the IP/port in your application. If no server is detected, the application cannot be processed and will be deleted.

That's meh.

thanks can be closed.

Housing my server in a data center is too expensive would be cheaper if I rent one.

I think it qualifies as long as it's running 24/7 and isn't a locally hosted game. PM the Devs for the details. I'll lock this at your request, but I can reopen if you PM me.

Watch your language, though.
