Hey, since I started in 0.97, I'm just kinda curious as to what very early PR looked like in around 2006-2008. I've searched it on YouTube, but can't find any videos. Could someone point me in the right direction?

I didn't know about PR when this came out but there was a PMC fraction you could play as. I hope they bring this into PR2 because that would be pretty cool. I would also love to see gameplay of this as well because I never saw any.

Ah i miss those days.

Gameplay was a lot slower. You can see it from the vids, most kits didnt have optics so there were lengthy long range ironsights engagements.

HATs were also tactical nukes.

The closest you can get to old PR gameplay i think are the Falklands maps with all ironsights weapons that lead to engagements at 200-300 meters.

There was never a PMC faction

That's the USMC in the picture. The SUV was a VIP vehicle used by the US and/or UK faction in a discontinued gamemode.

Oh I didn't know that. The reason why I thought it was a PMC is because on the features page all the way on the bottom it said "Private Security Contractors" under community fractions. So seeing that and this, one can only assume.

Looking back at those videos, it feels like a whole different game... even though the basics are still the same... the way it is played now differs a lot with the old versions...

Meeeehhhhhh, there was some good about it. The additional amount of work people had to invest in finding, installing and setting up Mumble somewhat kept the community divided between fully committed players (TG, RR, etc) and the people with the wrong mindset.
