Too much Voodoo?

I just came back to PR after a brief stint at COD (which basically reminded me why i still should play PR) and the very first thing that caught my attention was voodoo medics. Everyone knows that the shaman like medics that PR has kept from BF2 is a necessary evil, its the biggest example in PR of a compromise between realism and gameplay. On one hand the way they instantly revive people is ridiculous and totally unrealistic but then having medics on the team strongly encourages teamwork and people to be part of a squad. Just to clear things up I personally think that having medics in PR is a justifiable compromise between realism and gameplay.
What i dont think is a justifiable compromise is the power they have. Having always been a sniper fan the first weapon i picked up when coming back to PR was the good old mosin nagant. To cut a long story short I ended up taking shots at an American squad who was spread out on a hill in Karbala. I dropped there AR straight away with one shot and then the rest of them scattered. soon after that the squads medic ran to the wounded AR and healed him, as soon as he was up again i shot him down again. "Done and dusted" i thought but then the medic revived him again! so i shot him once again, after that i moved away but a kill never came up on my scoreboard.
The whole engagement really bugged me, the way the AR guy just got shot down and then revived to life again over and over resembled something out of a 1920s slapstick comedy, except it wasn't funny it was just very frustrating. I really think you should only be able to heal someone back from the severely wounded once not multiple times. The entire medical system is always going to be unrealistic, that's simply a limitation of the engine but you still shouldn't be able to bring someone up more then once. Personally I think the medics ability to heal someone over and over is one of the biggest shortcomings in PR in terms of realism, what does everyone else think?
