Burning Sands - Old vs New

Well first of all I want to say that this is not a topic for feedback towards the new version of Burning Sands, I just want to see what the public likes more the old version of Burning Sands or the new version?
I would really like to place the minimap from the old version below but unfortunately I cannot find it anymore. So I take this screenshot to show you folks the old version.

New
You make the choice and say which one you prefer. I prefer the old one since the battles were way more interesting and varied than on the new version. But they revamped it for reasons, since the map caused a lot of crashes.

To the MODs : Generally Vs threads aren't allowed on these forums however I'm happy for this to remain open, if nothing else it could be a useful reflection for other mappers to avoid some of the complications Burning Sands suffered from.
Although I'll make it clear right now, that I will not be doing any more work on Burning Sands aside from any required bug fixes, although I'm happy to place on record that I'd allow someone else to work on it.
Burning Sands was my first 4km map and I would have made it alot differently if I made it today.

I'm not a big fan of 4km desert based maps to begin with, but I think both versions were pretty fun. The newer one definitely does what it set out to do, which was improve performance (FPS wise). I was a bit confused by the removal of munitions storage bunker, but I suppose the large distance between those flags meant that if the fight ever progressed there, it was just going to be an armor rape-fest anyway. I never had good experiences at that flag... so I suppose I don't miss it that much.
If there was a bit more cover between the highway and the city I would 100% prefer the new version.

Old one was better, INF fights were more intense in the city. Now its very wide and open and mostly there are only long range firefights across streets and such.
The Crash Site Flag was really annoying though. Good thing it was removed.

Agreed with Spook, miss the intense CQB on the old one, but i still love the new one. A mix of the 2 would be awesome

I used to hate the old one, it was Kashan 2 with occasional Ninja business in the city. I love the new one, as there are always FOBs in the city and infantry have something to do.
The insurgency game-mode of the new one is a great new idea as well (spawns appear and disappear and you have to try to cap all 4 zones). Not perfect, and it can be very frustrating as Ins, but it's fast paced and can potentially be very fun - IMO a stride in the right direction for insurgency.

I prefer the new version, there are more fights in the city as there were in the old version.

Old one by miles, had the best of both worlds TBH. Essentially combine Kashan's side flags with EJOD's city, now it is pretty much what EJOD should have been. Why not make a hybrid, STD like the old and the ALT like the "new" or vice versa?

The flag layout and switching mains make the new one much more balanced. Challengers can no longer rush the crash site flag (Mecs 2nd flag quite often), and the flag layouts demand more from the infantry then making a FOB for AA and a TOW.
The city isn't as cramped as before, which has its pros and cons. Ultimately the infantry combat isn't as chaotic as before, but at the cost of that claustrophobic, enemy could be around every corner, feeling. I would say the city in Black Gold has the same confined feeling the older version had, I kind of wish it were in play more often the mostly skirmish layer.

I love everything about the new Burning Sands, all of the extraneous flags were removed that were impossible to defend. The flags on this layout are much more capable of being defended.
There are generally less complete flag captures like there were in the previous version. The problem before was that as soon as the city was won, British just steamroll the last three flags if they have good transport. Much better balance now.

Honestly, the new one is OK.
But Rudd is still my Homie!
I miss the Big Bunker complex in the old version.
The map is pointless in the lower left corner now, since that all is gone.
The tanks can actually flank around it and kill the enemy armor.
I would not mind having the Weapons Area in the new version, just to the left of the highway.
(Near like B10)

Last night on HOG (I am 90% sure this was the server)
We played Burning Sands.
Definently got pooped on.
The British had the first flag to cap at like South West City, then there was a Flag at NW City, then Olive Grove.
My squad went to olive grove, set up fob. Then BOOM. Within 3 minutes, we were all almost dead.
The British clearly had better Cordination.
But I felt the flags were rediculous. They should have had a highway flag or w/e at the Highway Cloverleaf.
I forget the score, But we did lose. We didn't lose assets much though. Just a ton of deaths from the darn tanks.
