LAV-25 Damage Smoke & Gameplay

I apologize if this has been brought up but I have been unable to locate it via the search feature.
After several rounds using the LAV-25, specifically on Sareema and Pavolosk Bay where it has to go toe to toe with BTR 80 w/ 30mm, I am afraid that the density of the smoke basically renders the vehicle useless the second it takes damage. After getting into contact on multiple occasions, the vehicle would produce smoke which completely envelop both the gunner's and driver's sights. My only option as gunner was to continue firing at my targets last known relative position and hope I got lucky, a tactic that almost never works. In engagements where we didn't fire first, it was almost always game set match, even against crews that have made major mistakes.
As driver, I have to rely on my gunner to rotate his gun broadside and try to navigate that way until we find a major road. Even then it is incredibly painstaking to RTB.
I understand the engine is forward in the hull which makes the forward smoke realistic. However, no other vehicle in game which I have operated (I am pretty sure I used them all) has this issue that I know of. Furthermore, with the exception of Fallujah, almost every map the LAV-25 is on, it is the USMCs primary tool to go toe to toe with other armor. The AAV is great, but it typically will not win a fight with a 30mm vehicle. For gameplay's sake, I wonder if at the very least, a reduction in the amount of smoke can be considered.
