It's been a while since I made a tutorial video, but they seem to be much more popular than the other stuff I do. So here's one I've been asked to do a few times - the AA kit:

I'm not sure if it still holds true, but back in 0.8 and 0.9x (I believe), the emplacement AA had a lock range of 1200m, whereas the handheld had a lock range of 800

Thanks for the feedback and info gents. Yeah, I tried to keep it simple and a lot of the l33t tricks don't work any more in 1.0.
The most important thing for success seems to be where you position yourself (and what the aircraft does) so you can get a fast lock and get the missile to hit the right spot.

another tip while watchin the huey scene on silent eagle, if a chopper is close and very slow, just aim at it and shoot even if you have no lock.

^Oh man, in the final clip, it was all happening so fast I just lost my mind and was waiting for the lock, then proceeded to miss with a second left to go :S

You should have mentioned to not aim at the aircraft immediately. If you see it coming your way, possibly much closer and increasing the chances of a hit. Aim down the AA, and follow the aircraft without watching at it directly to not cause a lock and warning sound for the crew. So it continues and when the time is right, move your aim on to it and take your shot.
