Probably not even a bug but figured I should try and post it here at least for the hell of it. But yea..

Saarema, kashan, and a few others when selecting it on local will instead load up the std layer instead of the large layer.

Is this intentional, am I not doing something right, or is it an actual bug?

When BF2 was released EA didn't activate the LRG layer capability. One of the side effects to that is you can't load a LRG layer in local mode. It will default to STD instead. You can only play on LRG layers when it's loaded onto a real server.

Well that sucks. I'm trying to figure out what layouts all the versions of the HIND are on.

solution: run a dedicated local PR server and set LRG layers there.
