I bought bf2 few days ago for project reality, everything went fine when installing but when i tried to join a server it took me like 30 min for it to load a map, i re downloaded and installed bf2 and PR again now it loads a bit faster but after it is on 70% loading the textures it takes me like 20-30 min to wait for the other 30% and most of the time waiting has no sense because next map will be loaded and it will take me an other 30 min to load the next map. pls send me a solution i really want to play this game after seeing all those videos on youtube

Everything look sto be in order,

(Let's try this first even if less likely, cause it's much quicker to test)
Second assumption, you are running an antivirus that scans all .zip files each time the .zip file is decompressed, if you have antivirus, try giving an exception to Install Path: C:\Games\Battlefield 2 Complete Collection AND ALL Subidrectories , and then test.

my first assumption is that the files in the directory Install Path: C:\Games\Battlefield 2 Complete Collection and it's subdirectories are highly fragmented.

SO, defrag your entire C: drive, or just defrag Install Path: C:\Games\Battlefield 2 Complete Collection and subdirectories using a 3rd party defrag utility like mydefrag.com .

(BF2 requires the texture files to be compressed into very large .zip files, when those files get fragmented, it can take a long time to load levels.

As far as I know, the epic load times are almost always caused by an overzealous antivirus program. Just disable your antivirus for a while, test it out, then you can do what litoralis suggested by adding exceptions.

Hello guys!

I could really use your help regarding my problem. My problem is very simular to KinGSniPE's problem, but my loading screen gets stuck at 62% after that it's extremly slow like 1% / half a minute.

What I did: first i tried it on my ssd, then reinstalled it to my regular sata hdd, turned off active protection system in eset also added into exceptions the entire BF2 folder, defregmanted all my hardrives. Also tried to set textures on low maybe it helps, but no help at all.

Used to run perfectly on my older machine with the same VGA card. Don't have any ideas what's wrong...

Please recheck your ESET settings, I'm almost certain that is the cause of the problems,

Btw. I also noticed your PC is set to 59 Hz refresh rate, in PR on 60 though... (just saying, but that won't be the cause, but you might want to run 60 Hz also)

Hey Guys!

First of all, [R-COM]LITOralis.nMd your solution worked, I couldn't figure out the exact way how to disable the eset smart security properly, so i deleted the entire thing and so magic comes and it works again 100% speed.

So, [R-COM]LITOralis.nMd let me invite u for a beer

Daniel thank you I will definietly do that, I just bought the new PC so I didn't have the time to set it up completly.

I will reinstall ESET today and I post a detailed tutorial how to fix this issue with pics.
