Hey yall I wanna know what is the best settings to play for my computer since I lag alot and I don't know which settings should be turned on/off, which settings are important/not etc.

MY PC:
Inter Core 2duo 2.3ghz
RAM: 4gb
Card: GeForce 9600GT 512MB
Windows 7 64bit

Lately I'm having some problems I don't know if it's just that my PC is to slow for this game but even on everything on LOW I'm having lag, though i'm having view distance to 100%.
Please dont post things like 'buy better pc' etc, i really wanna know if there is any solutions.
Also do you think options like "texture filtering" or "effects" etc and more are important?
Please post ! :D

View distance makes a massive difference with me, set your AA to the lowest possible. Basically everything in the graphics settings set to low and set view distance to 90 or 85.

Another big one is the resolution, set it a little lower if you continue lagging. Also set PR to high priority in task manager and close other applications that can cause lag. If you have NVIDIA then set the games settings as low as you can in the change 3D settings tab in NVIDIA control panel. Read this TweakGuides.com - Nvidia Forceware Tweak Guide it tells you what all the settings on NVIDIA control panel do and which is a better choice.

If lag persists then not many choices left, consider getting a better video card and or CPU.

I think one of the biggest options that cause lag is view distance, I lowered it from 100% to 65% and I'm getting abit faster gameplay, still not so fast but helped me out abit.
And here is another question now, if I got view distance on 65% will I see ENEMIES like people with 100%?
Or the view distance is just distance of textures, not the players?

One of players told me that in this game x8 antialiasing gives you more fps, I turned it on and i barerly could move around mouse haha, for me it don't work. Why would x8 antialiasing give more fps, I was just curious (or w.e you say it)
thx for answers btw

As far as I know, the new patch made PR a tad heavier for PC's then it already was, I've noticed considerable differences on Urban maps and Woodland maps, It's really about the props and objects placed on the map.

Take Kashan Desert, Huge map, few objects great fps mostly.
Take Fallujah West, Small map, Lots of props, lowered FPS at a lot of places.

Also as Fir3w411 visit that tweaking guide, It helps, allot.
Lowering view distance might help you, only gives you a smaller disadvantage against enemy units due to spotting range.

A'ight. Lowring view distance is really big difference for me, even on Fallujah west i got way better fps, but yea I can't see enemies far away.
btw does resolution hits fps much? If i switch between 1024 to 1680 it will hurt my fps or it dont matter on PR? Sometimes its hard for me to recognize enemy, i don't know if its a bush or a person LOL

Resolution does matter.

Test it out I can't say for sure.

My system is pretty fast, but before I got a graphics card in it, I had the same challenges. How to keep my frame rate playable enough to keep up with my squad and engage contacts, without making them too blurry or making the faraway stuff too invisible. No matter what settings I used, I couldn't get a stable frame rate. Eventually it would get too low.

View distance made the biggest difference for me in stabilizing my frame rate. It also made me really limit my roles within a squad. In urban combat, as a medic or something, it's playable.

Some people have found that turning their graphics settings to the highest actually improved their frame rate. I had no acceleration, so I found the opposite: everything had to be on lowest, and view distance at like 65%.

Except ur CPU, u can actually run PR well.
I think u can go High.
My desktop has almost the same Firmwares with urs. Although I still get horrible FPS in some maps.

U can try set all high, then load Fool roads, take ur binos and use it in the deep forest.(U can throw some smokes as well) If u don't have too much FPS drop, then u r just fine.
