Jet outruns explosion

here's the scenario- jet is at max cruising speed to start. jet is locked on, hits afterburner and drops a set of flares. missile impacts the extreme rear of the jet and the jet flies off unharmed.

here's the theory- jet is outrunning the explosion radius before it is registered. much like an ammo technical's ability to run over mines without taking damage, the jet is gone before the explosion registers the proper damage to the aircraft.

i've noticed this with all forms of AA missiles, and it's true for any fighter or bomber classed jet in pr. i've seen firsthand where the eurofighter took no fewer than 5 shots in this manner without any obvious signs of being damaged. 5 detonations on the aircraft, and no apparent damage.

i personally feel that the rate of incidents like this have increased greatly over the last several patches for some reason.
i'm sure that there are other pilot's here who could attest to the fact that it has always happened to some small degree, but it's definitely grown into a larger issue lately, and is worthy of a bug report.

It's not rly a bug, I might make a more detailed post about this at a later date but when the "unsighted MANPADS glitch" existed (it still does kinda) a lot of players learned how the AA missiles work. Basically, if the missile gets close enough to an enemy aircraft it will detonate, it's not impact based.

This means that yes if fire a missile at a jet, parallel to it as it is moving away from you the missile will explode behind the jet as it is going away from the explosion, minimizing damage.

It's not so much a glitch as just how the way AA works in this game.

To actually destroy fast moving targets with AA you do have to lead them, it sucks, but thats how it is.

The reason AAMs or AAV missiles dont need to be led to get kills is because theyre way stronger than MANPADS

man i know what you're saying 40, but i really think that something is different over the last few patches. before, if two missiles blew up near a jets exhaust, it would take clear and obvious damage. what i'm trying to point out is that in this same scenario currently, jets take the same hits and travel away unharmed.
