Lag Spikes after 15 minutes of playing

After about 15-20 minutes of playing on any server my ping skyrockets to around 400-500 range. I turned off torrents, netflix, etc, but it still happens. I swapped routers, went directly into the cable modem, re-installed PR twice, and no luck. Now I did a clean install of 7 and the problem still comes back to me. I live alone and have sole access to the internet.

Can you tell us
your ISP,
what type of internet (cable, DSL, fiber optic, etc)
your modem,
your router(s),
wired or wireless connection
firewall
antivirus/antimalware

Does this happen in any other online multiplayer game?

Have you tried using online internet speed/stability tests to check for packet loss/jitter ?

We might have to use wireshark Wireshark ? Download , but let's wait with Wireshark until we work through the easy questions I listed above.

ISP: NYconnect(Timewarner reseller)
Cable 10megs
DCM425 no idea on brand
Asus RT-56U and RT-66U
Wired + Wifi network for mobile devices
MSE + Windows firewell
Only PR. It started around 1.0 beta, it's gotten progressively worse per release.

you'll need to run pingplotter for at least 15 minutes, ...

here is a discussion on it.

Simply put, it's most likely a problem with your ISP that is not going to be fixed.

I'd suggest playing another online game that uses alot of data, and see if the ping issue persists across online games.

Could you post your system specs,

small possibility your onboard ethernet is set to "eco mode" and is turning itself on and off rapidly due to faulty firmware. I personally dealt with this on a Asus Z77 mobo.

A surefire way to narrow it down is a pain in the ***, but very effective:

- Take PC to a friend's house who uses a different ISP
- DMZ your PC on his router
- Try PR

If it works, it's something between your router & your ISP
If it doesn't work, it's most likely an issue on your local PC config (like the ethernet issue Lito mentioned)
