Not for the driver or gunner...its usually the Commander I think positive

But there is no commander position on tanks in PRM.

True true but clearly in a tank crew, thats the only person that should get the Binocs.

maybe it could be set up as when you are in the MG position that you can click (whatever button) and be looking in the binocs ????
But once you get out of the tank you no longer have them ?

that would be cool if it's possible. But the dude sitting on the mg should definitely have binocs.

The MG should also have the AA style sight instead of the regular iron sights we are eagerly awaiting.
If binocs are not possible for MG due to coding problems how about a 10x zoom on the MG.
Given the wild shots the 50 will give you, the 10x zoom shouldn't allow you to snipe w/ the tank's MG but will allow you to spot targets and relay them to the gunner.

Or just set it up where while in the 10x zoom you CANT fire .... cuz it would be pretty hard to hold the binocs to your eyes and fire ya know

Which is why I thought adding them to the MGer or driver would be the easiest in the short term.

Yeah. That would work (if that would work that is - coding wise)

i hate how the zoom was turned right down in the tank gun.

Red Orchestra is obviously becoming a heavy influence on many peoples view of realistic gameplay.

Why shouldn't it?
The idea with the x10 zoom of the machine gun is imho the easiest and best one yet.

"Sniping" with the MG shouldn't be a problem...

Think it could work

I couldn't find the picture and I don't have a scanner to take it out of the book, but Carlos Hathcock put a 10x Leuopold ( sp? ) scope on a .50 in Vietnam, loaded 1 road and shot some guy at about 1500m.

yeah read the book 15 times front to back .... best story was in the first chapter "elaphant valley" if i remember, when he saw the kid with a bike carrying tons of guns and ammo. Not wanting to kill the kid he decided to shoot the wheel, hoping the kid would run away. The kid didn't run, he flipped over the front of the bike, jumped to his feet, and reached for a weapon. Carlos then put a bullet in his head.
Oh oh, or what about the time he took out like 2 or 3 squads over a few days, one by one as they would run for it, from behind the berm where they were hiding !!!!
LOL, another good book to read about snipers is "Dear Mom"

Making the right click on the MGer super zoom while also disabling the MG from firing would be a good quick fix. Adding a binocular lens to that makes it complete.

I Read both of those Preston, good books. I don't know why but i kinda like the part in Dear Mom where he's stuck in the hospital. You get to hear about all the **** you had to go to back then with the cleaning of the wound and stuff. I'm so glad they have dissolvable sutures now, dont gotta do that anymore (as far as I know). And yeah, that .50 snipe thing actually happened a couple times, it wasn't just a Hathcock thing. They would use them on top of OP hills that are constantly manned, like OP/Radio Relays, and use them to observe and possibly mess someone up with is big round like that.
