uh, afaik officers dont have a different rifle in the army than anyone else - so i dont think this would be an option (also that rifle is basically a m16)

LR300 is not a standard issue rifle, and as such would not fit in with the realism themes of the Mod.

I'd like to see the squadleader/officer get the SPR Mk12 or an M16 with an ACOG scope (LSW for the Brits, QBB88 for the Chinese, scoped G3/PSG90 for the MEC.) Give the sniper a sniper rifle (L96, M24/40, SV9 8) .

Makes more sense for the officer to hang back as a spawn point, spotting and directing his squad from cover with the ability to provide long range support fire

if officer gets anything different it should be either an M4/M203 or M16 A3/M203. A3 if im not mistaken is the full auto variant yes.

yes it is. But I believe it's not being used by the USMC.

He should get a long range weapon as far as I'm concerned...

I am pretty sure Foxtrot is just part of the alphabet... You know... like when cops say Seven Mary Three... Mary for M..

Squad A is the alpha....then bravo...then charlie....then delta.... then echo.....then foxtrot.... maybe gamma after that???

Yes, foxtrot is a part of the military alphabet. It's also a dance.

I think the SL should get an accurized rifle or DMR.

That's an M16 with a gangsta grip on it, quite different from the SCAR-L.

Here's your answer:

What about a British officer class? They could waste time at Sandringham in between rugger or polo matches, have their "Yah!" girlfriend sit in the public benches at their passing out parade, cause a stir in the press about "will they/won't they go to Iraq/Afghanistan" then proceed to perform a purely honorific rĂ´le while fannying around at their gran's huge house in the middle of London polishing horse brasses & having jolly old time as officers & gentlemen while real men get jiggy wit it & dodge the shrapnel.

The not going to anywhere remotely dangerous like Iraq or Afghanistan or even Romford town centre on a Saturday night, will defo NOT stop them both getting a massive chest full of medals and promotions galore. Politics eh?

Back on topic, I reckon the officers should be getting personal protection weapons of some sort or standard assault rifles and lots of support gadgets, like binos, target designators, coloured smoke etc. After all I'd have thought their major role is direct others and not to directly engage the enemy.

Oooh... And some new lines. The Brit officers shouldn't say "go go go", they should shout "tally ho!"

The M4 already has a RAS system in the game and the british C7 or 8 has a vert grip attached to the RAS
