Sounds fucked up.

Ever since 1.0 was released the sounds have gone down hill.
For example:
- Before 1.0, i could hear footsteps within 20-50 meter radius.
- In 1.0, i could hear footsteps within 20-30 meter radius.
- In the last 2 patches, i can only hear footsteps withing 5-10 meter radius.
And saying something like "don't reduce your sound volume" is the most lazy response you can give.
(this is an actual quote)
I have been using Ultra High settings in all patches and always 100% volume. So basically if i want to hear the footsteps like i use to i'm going to have to boost the volume so high that i'm going to damage my hearing.
So how about stop adding more stuff and breaking already existing sounds or at least if you are going to add new stuff make sure that you don't brake anything while you do it.
Also about the recoil of the Unconventional forces, it's stupid to try to simulate "they don't know how to use their weapons properly so let's add more recoil" this is a GAME, you don't seem to care about the game play at all as long as everything is realistic as possible...
EDIT: "less harsh version"

Because you devs seem to have a habit of "fixing" problems but causing more problems, good example : 1 shot bug.

Also i want to say that the background sounds are waaayyy too loud imho (or shooting and footsteps are just incredibly quiet) and due to the constant soundbugs the volume of assets is too damn high too. Sometimes im moving around going crazy because of soundbugs. If you cant fix pls reduce volume at least.

Jaeger.Pyro, if you cannot be polite in your feedback I invite you not to give any.
Recoil is done by calibre etc not by presumed user skill and there is a significant amount of detail applied to the recoil and deviation of each individual weapon, e.g. slightly less upwards recoil to rifles equipped with a grenade launcher, due to extra weight.
You can see this in weapons that are common between factions like hamas where ar15 variants are present and the US factions where the deviation and recoil are identical if that weapons is exactly the same.
edit, you can find the recoil and deviation settings in the folders recoil and deviation in C:\Program Files\Origin Games\Battlefield 2 Complete Collection\mods\pr_repo\objects\weapons\common if you want to look at the numbers
Recoil went up in 1.0 because deviation came down, we do not have weapon sway so it's up to you to control your weapon.
Because you devs seem to have a habit of "fixing" problems but causing more problems, good example : 1 shot bug.
if you had any understanding of how difficult it can be to make this kind of product, you'd just be happy that we fixed it
Sound wise, look at any other sound feedback thread and you'll see plenty of examples of polite people giving feedback with Anders etc taking it on board and trying to action upon that feedback.

For the price of $0.00, I have to say they're doing an outstanding job with everything.

Ah, so it's not my ears. Sound positioning was the main reason I got into PR and since 1.0 it has gone way downhill. And yeah, the last patch (or the one before that) made footsteps even quieter

Again one of those things where nothing was broken and nobody asked for it to be changed yet the DEVs changed it anyway. Why?
I also play on Ultra high, if that matters.

IMO sound quality has shot through the roof since 1.0 and is improving patch by patch. Anders is doing an amazing job with the sound (and visual)effects.
Quite frankly Jaeger, that's just bad, demotivating feedback that serves no purpose whatsoever. You haven't paid a dime for this mod, you're playing it for free and the DEVs are working on the mod for free, on their free time.
Constructive feedback is always good, but that's just bad and arrogant.
My 2c.

Well it's their own decision for not asking money for it. And it's not like i don't appreciate their work i'm just giving my honest opinion about the work they do.

Wow Jaeger, way to make yourself look like a total jackass.
I agree with you about making footsteps sound a bit more like it used to be, but if you think that the sounds are "fucked up" just because you can't hear footsteps as well as you could previously then all I can say is good job exaggerating.
Adding / tweaking new things is a constant process which in general improves the game. Changes get thoroughly discussed, and if after release it becomes apparent that some changes haven't been for the best, they get reverted.
Also like Rudd said, your point about unconventional forces being less accurate is total bs, no idea where you got that from.
All in all, how about you try and sound less like a spoiled little kid and give feedback in a manner that's a bit more acceptable and less pointlessly insulting.

This is quite ironic, also talking about manners you go and say things like this about me when you don't even know me... + I have not insulted anyone i've only criticized their work. There's a big difference.

Not really.... If we could sell PR, we would by now and we would have full time employees working on it. But because the BF2 EULA, you are legally not allowed to sell a mod and as such, this is just something we have to do in our free time.
This is very common knowledge btw everyone pretty much knows....
It is also worth pointing out that the same people who worked on the sounds for v1.0, are working on the sounds for PR today. As for things like footstep sounds, they where most likley and oversight as the code dose not translate directly ingame, ie if you set the sound radius at 20m, it isn't necessarily going to be heard from even 5m away... Or possibly it was affected by some other totally different change in the mod that had no intention of changing it, like possibly by our player movement speed tweaks that where done recently.
Again, we welcome constructive feedback but yours in places is just damn right disrespectful. Think again before posting please and if your going to be like that, why don't you try to fix it yourself as that's how the guys currently working on the sounds got into it.
EDIT:
Jaeger.Pyro wrote:+ I have not insulted anyone i've only criticized their work. There's a big difference.
English may not be your first language but your post is very insulting the way you have phrased it.

Ironic how? Your post makes you seem like a spoiled kid, me stating that is insulting with a point.
The manner in which you put your feedback is very demotivating / insulting to the people that have been spending their own money and free time making and working on the sounds.

I dont think he was inpolite or something in my honest oppinion. Hes just straight. I mean how do you want to say that you dont like something if you dont actually say it? It`s not about trying to ***** at somebody or cause trouble, its just about explaining what you dont like and why.
I cant imagine what you guys mean with constructive criticism, tell me how you would have written it? I think you guys cant handle any criticism at all if you overreact this way. Just discuss with each other and dont start making arguments about respect and so on.
Why you heff to be mad guys? Everything is good. I luv you all.

All of that, especially the first quote is disrespectful and mean or in the case of the second quote, simply not needed... There is no need to say "Who ever is responsible for the sounds, is doing a really bad job.". That is not achieving anything, other than prompting these kinds of posts and us not focusing on the issue that this topic was intended to deal with. This is also not to mention the topic title either...

Try looking at other Feedback posts:
PR:BF2 Feedback - Project Reality Forums
And for a somewhat similar topic on sounds after v1.0:
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f252-p ... lease.html
Note how the OP set up his post and you will also note the kinda replies, with Anders noting them and has applied some of the feedback to his work already.
BTW the actual issue about footstep sounds being possibly too low is a vaild one and one that probably needs to be talked about, but that' isn't going to happen in this topic until the OP at the very least apologises for what he's said.
PS. I'm not involved in the sound department of this mod if that's what your thinking.

I dont think its disrepectfull anyway. May be criticism is not needed. Why so butthurt about it? Still luv you Rhino. I wasnt here if i didnt like your game, i still dont like certain parts. And may think something is badly done.
Sounds are good, just volume settings bad though.
PS: OP apologised already i believe. At least he said he didnt want to insult anyone.
