Bullet ricochets

First I want to say Good Job for this awesome mod, BF2 should really be like this. My question is Is that possible to make bullet ricochets when hitting hard surface in angle, says 5-10degree? The only game I saw this effect is in americas army and the game sux, but in real life full metal jackets do ricochets in almost any surface within angle. Probably not water though.

Here's a link for more info, Ive seen a video of 249 shot on a RPG guys, gore, and I can clearly see bullets bounce off ground in angle. I dont remember where the video is but If anyone want Ill research.
Thanks

I've asked for bullet Ricochets off the ground before but no DEV's replied to it, the only reply I got was from a who said tracers would not show up bouncing off the ground in daylight, however I proved him wrong with several videoclips.
BTW OFP WGL and Armed Assault has this feature.

Sounds like some deep imbedded code. If it was possible I'm pretty sure it would be in by now, ballistics were one of the very early things the Devs looked at.

Bullets do acually ricochet in bf2 but the tracers don't show up after impact, but this is only from objects, not the ground.

there was a mod for BF1942, it was called Operation Peace Keeper, its still out, they made a mod for bf2 now. anyways, in the 1942, they had an amazing system for ricochets. it really amazed me. so if 1942 can do it, im sure BF2 can

Yeah, No believe me I am pretty sure BF2 doesn't allow for what you want, but wait for a dev to prove me right.

i was wondering too where all the ricochet sounds are, cause you dont hear them very often ingame now.
this will be changed in the next version.
i found out, that only 2 or 3 metal materials had ricochet effects. all other materials had only a visual effect for ricochets, but no sound. i dont know if the vBF2 devs had forgot to implement the sounds or if they deleted them for a possible soundlag reason or something, but i have ricochet sounds now assignet to almost all hard materials. in the next version you can hear ricochets, if the bullet hits in the right angle, a lot often then now. ladders and heli rails will produce always a ricochet sound.
but i dont think that the BF2 engine will calculate a bullet after a ricochet hit. it will still dissapear. the same goes for tracers.
but it needs a coder here to get a clear statement..

Is it just me or did it not say in the BF2 manual that ricochets could kill?
Or was that more EA/DICE BS?

2 things i can think of.
1: Code it so that every time a bullet hit a metallic surface, there is a graphic that makes it look like a richochet. of course, this would somehow have to only happen when a tracer round was richocheting, as a normal bullet would not be visible.
2: code it sort of like the minigun on the bh, with a slight explosive range to simulate the bullet richocheting or fragmenting and bouncing back and hurting a little bit. kind of rough
i dont htink you can do a specific directional richochet though.

Hope to see this feature in PR later

not every single bullet ricochets.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure soft points don't richochet, same with subsonic ammo.
