Apologies.

This wasn't a suggestion for the game, you were asking about play-styles... that's no issue whatsoever. To address your original question, my personal list of must-do's is:

• Play the objectives. Defense is always more important than attack
• Situational awareness is key - This includes knowing your friendly & enemy units' uniforms, using your map to keep abrest of friendly/enemy locations
• If the enemy isn't in front of you, he's probably getting ready to ruin your day from your flanks
• Slow down, it not only helps you have better initial deviation, but can improve situational awareness
• Try to figure out when it's time to screw around (it's allowed in PR, and can be great fun!) and when it's srsTime!
• Don't try to throw grenades through windows until you've practiced a bit on your own, since you'll probably kill yourself and anyone around you
• That being said, don't die with grenades still in your inventory, you get 2 on most kits, use them!!!
• Having the high-ground (or good cover) will mean you'll generally win the firefight.

It's 3am so my brain isn't going at 100% but those are what I came up with in a couple of minutes.

Kind of cliched but really read the manual. That helps alot. There's alot that goes into the kits in this, things that take a degree of skill and finesse. I've been playing it off and on for 3 years and I still haven't learned everything. Just read up on them, try to figure out deviation (weapon spread deviation isn't nearly as bad as it used to be) and ask questions to your squad leader or anyone else. The PR community is fairly forgiving and helpful. We're all just here to have fun. If anyone isn't helpful then they're an *** and are not representative of the PR community.

Build your competence and confidence from the ground up, start as a rifleman infantry player and keep room in the back of your mind to understand the ebb and flow of the battle space,

This is a multilayered interdependent game where combined arms wins the day. Behind that there are logistics and spotters and squad leader level comms going on to keep the chess pieces moving around.

Before you get into the higher level game though, you got to get a feel for simple things like
- how far you can sprint in the open before losing stamina,
- weapon deviation
- weapons mastery, we got like ?? 100+ weapons in the game
- understanding spawn point mechanisms, (read the manual)
- figuring out the proper balance between fight or flight impulses.
- finding ways to communicate with friendlies about enemy locations, before during and after firefights,
- understanding the medic kit system, and accepting the need to be patient and wait for revives.
- and most importantly, small squad infantry tactics specific to this game. It is entirely situational and always fluid, there are a large number of weapons kits to mix and match , and there are many many ways to use the comms system to your situational advantage.

Play only infantry at first, until you are familiar with game mechanics, then try some of the heavy vehicles.

And join up with Admins and/or Devs. They really help you out!

Join squads focused on the obj at hand and using mumble if not leave the squad find one thats about mature teamwork and fun if you cant find any of those leave the server or try at a different time.
