yup, I know that this isn't a new thing, and there was a development of this faction but was discontinued, but urgh man I still want the Japanese Self-Defence forces in PR!
I really don't know if there is a community development of this faction, but I'm just asking is there any intention to develop it for PR?

Re: JSDF?
It's been ages since the comfac for the JSDF was going. And it was going well. Some vehicles had been made, a few player skins were also ready (At least for the standars of back then). And there was work going on for Japanese statics.
But I think around the time it got shot down, more work was required on OPFOR factions.
It's really too bad the JSDFs never made it to PR. Maybe one day the project will get a revival considering that Japan is embarking (Gradually) on a pretty important defence preparation program that will include the creation of USMC-like Marine force for amphibious warfare. Some planned equipment these new Japanese Marines will be using are already in PR like the V-22 and the AAV-7.
But it all comes down in getting enough people who are interested, motivated and have the experience doing the necessary assets like the 3-D models, the textures, the maps and the voice acting. Oh... and they need plenty of spare time so that the project can carry on without many delays.
And getting all that is pretty hard. Many Comfacs who seemed like a safe deal years ago have since been dropped. Most unfortunate but well.. we can't expect the Devs to do EVERYTHING themselves.
