BMP-2 2A42 cannon fire rate

The BMP2's cannon fire rate is wrong, since in real life they do not use the 550 rounds/min firerate. See below.
Reloading the BMP-2's 30 mm cannon can be somewhat problematic, and can take up to two hours, even if the ammunition is prepared. Additionally, the cannon is normally only used on the slow rate of fire, otherwise fumes from the weapon would build up in the turret faster than the extractor fan can remove them.

In PR there is that overheat system that limits rate of fire over time.

Also, if you really want to get BMP-2M nerfed... nerf the turret traverse.

I think BMP-2M also needs a seat to fire MANPAD out of for balance.

The unused Russian one that has a launcher on top, maybe, but we don't have to whine over everything, war is not fair after all...

Fumes in the turret might be a problem usually in case of sustained fire, that is why faster rate of fire used with short 8 round burst.

The overheat system still allows sustained fire for quite a long time. Rather than making the gun overheat constantly it would be a better idea to lower the fire rate to what it is usually IRL and be able to fire longer bursts.

The traverse is already slow enough and realistic. Why should something as stupid as that be done?

Overheat system does NOT allow sustained fire at highest rpm. Have you even played with BMP-2M? It overheats in a few seconds if you hold down the mouse button. Pretty much only good for bursting down an attack chopper.
Working as intended.

Clearly you wanted to nerf BMP-2; so you can only find traverse to nerf.

BMP-2M fire fast but overheat quite fast to, if you not the care of your rate of fire you can lose some fights, for the infantry is a hell of machine, if the explosives starts to overheat use the Grenade launcher, that thing is a killer machine and painful for helicopters and NATO APC i love that but still prefer the BMP-3, and why the turret in BMP-2 and the BMP-2M is so slow? this is the only apc i need to set the sensitive to max to turn that ting i though it was because of the BMP-2 from the MEC be so old but the Russian version also have that issue.

Roque, did you think of the engine that turns the turret of the older BMP-2 ? I is not that strong maybe? So pls leave your fingers of the sensitivity-settings for the sake of realism. thx.

Not sure if it is the BMP-1 or BMP-2 but Swedish army instructions for shooting at BMPs says that it takes 7 seconds to turn the turret 360 degrees.

I counted to 25 rounds before overheating in BMP2M.

Considering how much guns they have; it probably would not be too easy to turn for turret drive.

Why modernize the BMP-2 when it would be easier to just build BMP-3?

BMP-2M is offered as upgrade packages for existing fleet of BMP-2, as far as I recall.
