Massive lag upon death

Long time player fist time poster
So I've been playing PR for a while and a few weeks ago I reinstalled that game to satisfy that itch for a good FPS game. But now something strange is happening.
When I am playing normally I get little to no lag save for the server spikes with an average ping of around 50-80. When I die though, or wounded my ping shoots up and the game starts to lag very bad to the point where I've been DC'ed a few times.
If it's a quick respawn timer I can generally wait it out. But when I'm dead dead with a long timer generally the lag wins out.
I noticed that I am also getting lag when I'm using mortars, and turrets in vehicles
