I would love to see the Iron Gator idea re-worked and done right, PR style.

A realistic, REAL LIFE SIZED carrier would be awesome.
The carriers in the game now are a joke.. they're like a hotwheels version of a real carrier, haha.

wouldn't work very well - there are thousands of sailors on a real life carrier, there's no way PRM can represent them

But how would a realistic sized carrier fit in a PR map? The only way would be to make one like Iron Gator, but I don't think that's so realistic.
And just replacing the "normal" carrier on the other maps would probably cause alot of lags and cost performance.

the lag on that level is sick!
I personaly do not liek that levle. A carrier somewhere IMBETWEEN the prseent carrier adn the Iron Gator would be great in terms of no. levels and overall detail.

This could be used on maps that sitll have large open area of land - single carrier, almost no land maps are really just boring and tactics FALL BY THE WAYSIDE.

What i really would liek to see would be a CArrier with a bridge area that could be accessed. And to make it more exciting, the CO would have access to special features up their - displays offering intelligence and a far more complex order system e.g ability to mark targets for aircraft ext.

And The enemy could launch attacks on the carrier with key objective OF DESTRoying the birdge and almost certain killing Mr CO!

Ontop of a decent bridge area with a few connecting rooms, a flightdeck - quite simple AND a possibly a single level with a few accomation rooms woudl be it.

But crucial to all of this would be that the carrier had a operation flightdeck with lots of helis and planes.

It is a balance - not too many RANDOM ROOMs but enough to have a small fight below deck with out it becoming to serious BUT CRUCIAL rooms and areas have WORKING Systems and Stuff e.g aircraft actually SPWN below DECk, Bridge for CO, infantry spwn location in accomodation section ext.

NOTE: i dont actually think the DEVs shoudl bother at all, there are far more important things - it would take a rediculous ammount of time and any way LAG LAG LAG LAG however small!!!

Nimitz Classs CV anyone?

and for the Chinese Kruschev Class CV, Brits must Defo be a Invincible Class Carrier but these are well off in my mind as they are frickken Huge models bbuuuutttt...... Devs talk to the Fh2 Devs they have figured out how to reduce lag on a MOVING Ship

With all due respect to the DEVs, I don't think lagless maps are a huge priority. The community is presently divided over many maps, such as Al Basrah, that a lot of us can't really play on. :(

that was like my favorite map in BF, lots of heli support and at times good CQ combat...no lag at all

The lag issues presented by the current Al Basrah have been resolved.

I'd love to see just the normal BF2 carrier, with a working lift and cargo bay for the planes to taxi onto the lift.

Well im not going into detail but not too long ago on the FH2 forums they got the Ark Royal in-game by porting the model from the 1942 mod and used a different texturing techniqie and reduced lag, to show this there were screenshots taken and showd on thier forums but they were too much too soon for public and i believe the thread showing them was closed

I was lagging like crazy last night on Greasy Mullet on GH. I don't think the server can handle that many people or something.

Iron Gator was great. It was EASY to cap flags because theres SO many noobs in SF the you can own them all. Also, whoring with the chopper is GREAT lol. You just camp the carrier constantly and get tons of kills for your gunner. That's how I got a couple chopper ribbons in SF.

The Iron Gator carrier would be nice to have. I think that existing maps could be reworked to have the carrier further off shore, which would eliminate much of the lag. The map with the dam has so much water that a large carrier should be too far away to cause lag for those on the land.

Did SF have vanilla hit damage? IE, it would take a whole clip to kill someone.
