This community is full of elitist jerks.

I get kicked from the server because I asked 3 questions, about rally points and differentiating between friendly. I even referenced the manual. I get kicked for being a "spamming noob troll". This community is very elitist and unwelcoming to new players. I don't know how people expect to sustain such a community in the long term.

Well it isn't what it was a couple years ago that's for sure, but depending on the specific server, admins can be asses. There are on occasion (don't know now since I haven't played in almost a year) good players and squads/leaders that are willing to take in a new player and show them the ropes, but it must be rare these days.

An ******* server administrator does not mean the community is full of elitist jerks. Sometimes new players tend to spam the all-chat of a server with their questions, when the Team- or Squad communications would be sufficient. That might be the reason you got kicked.

Which server was it? You should go and complain about it in their feedback section: https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f29-pr ... r-feedback
The servers are run by different communities and represent different players from different backgrounds. No need to generalize on the whole community.

You should put feedback on the specific server thread, hardly fair to tar and feather an entire community from one server experience.

Someone with the same/very similar name happens/happened to be on this forum too, and it appeared that you were trolling as you repeatedly asked the same question, despite it being answered a couple of times (I read the answers). I was the one who reported you. You didn't stop after being warned...

I've tried to find the account in question, which I can't do, so perhaps I'm crazy but I was rather sure, I even remembered a 2009 or 2011 join date. If that was all a mix up, I apologize for the confusion. That being said... vvv

Using the all-chat excessively will generally result in admins coming down on you, as there are only 4 lines of text that are readable at any given time, and important squad-to-squad intel can be lost/missed if there are people constantly spamming inconsequential questions over all chat.

If people tell you to read the manual, read it. You will already become an above average player by reading it and applying it.

I would say what happened to you was very rare. Are you sure it was not an auto kick for too many team kills?

There are plenty of squad leaders willing to help, such as my self. The key is stick with infantry squads right now. A SL for an armor squad really cant teach someone on the fly.

But join a squad and ask your squad mates instead of the whole server, it usually just helps keep in game text chat down.

I would say its rare too, so dont judge the whole community.

I could say that all new players are lazy, and are not interested in doing their own homework, ie reading the manual, looking up guides on youtube and read some tactical manuals/tips. Instead they just expect that every1 has the time to teach basic things ;)

Its a better idea to ask your squad leader directly after telling him you are new, instead of using the chat. You'll also get better answers, at least thats how i try to answer.

I can guarantee that most gamers dislike reading even more than real marines, lol. :-)
What if all servers had to offer a boot-camp session for newbies at least once a month?
Or even better, what if the devs could make a boot-camp trainer in single-player?
Then they could also patch the game so that newbies can't join a regular match until after
they have completed basic-training.

What exactly were those three questions?

Because if you somehow gave away intel to enemy; that's enough to get you punished even if unintentional.

I was in this round with Psyrus and I reported you too, at first roughly 10 or so people tried to answer your questions including me but you did not take notice and simply kept asking the same questions over all chat. You were told quite a few times that a lot of your questions would be answered if you read the manual but you did not seem to take notice. After a while the questions just got sillier and I, along with everyone in my squad began to think you were a troll. When you started typing things such as "this community is full of elitist jerks" and other provocative things in all chat you pretty much confirmed yourself as one. To put the cherry on top you began team killing but I don't know the circumstances of this I only saw the death notices and the reportings.

Edit: I can't really remember but i was under the impression you were kicked for teamkilling, not for asking questions.

This is all hearsay unless somebody has proof:
1. First guy starts a thread claiming PR vets are jerks from his experience.-Check
2. Later two guys jump in the thread & claim he's a jerk/troll and even a teamkiller.-Check
3. Then all three provide video evidence proving what they are saying is true...wait...no videos

The real truth is almost always somewhere in between two extreme accounts of events.
Since none of you have proof, that would seem to be the most reasonable thing to believe:
1. Newbies can be very annoying, especially to veteran players.-Check
2. Veteran players can be obnoxious & short tempered, especially to newbies.-Check

This concludes the discussion

Oh dear, it's time for this thread again, must've been a month or so since the last one.

@OP, I don't feel exactly inclined to help you whatsoever, work on your attitude first, then come back.
@Megabit, you've got 2 eyewitness accounts, one of which coming from an R-CON and put them on the same level as a random 1-post dude? Dafuq?

I'm so sorry that you feel that way sometimes (if it is true) i wish i was able to run a server myself if i could I'm a nice guy and not a jerk nor a elitist (I Hope Not) i know everyone has their start on PR but yeah it sucks you were kicked for that action. I been playing PR since 15 years of age and yeah to this day it irritates me that we have some online playing that are so hard on new players. Most state read the "read the manual" 8-) . like really? That like getting a brand new game you been so excited to play (PR) you really think most are going to waste life reading a manual, yes if you have time to do so then that is ok but most people like myself just wanna enjoy the game play right away i have never read this PR manual ever in all my years and i just have watched other people or gladly had the chance to play with nice guys who taught me alone the way. I don't know what happen on the server I'm just stating my opinion on how many treat new players at times.

Apologies for misrepresenting you during the game, however it doesn't change the fact that you were spamming despite being asked to stop. Hopefully it hasn't soured your experience too much, and hopefully you've taken the 15 minutes to read the manual and have had the majority of your questions answered.

Your insincere graciousness and somewhat arrogant tone actually tend to validate the OP's original statement, lol.
However, I am sure that wasn't your intention.
