I'm not sure if this is the right place but none of them have miniguns on them........

Is this intended or a mistake?

I'm willing to bet that the griffon doesn't carry miniguns as standard, much like how the Blackhawk doesn't carry miniguns as standard in the USA. The griffon has 2 variants ingame afaik one unarmed and one with C6 MGs.

Standard armament of the Griffon appears to be the C6s

Bell CH-146 GRIFFON

Their primary mission remains transporting troops and their equipment. Lightly armed with a C6 machine gun mounted in open doorways, the CH-146 Griffon can carry up to twelve lightly equipped troops or eight fully equipped troops

for PR's purposes, the C6 is the better armament for PR gameplay imo

From that same website

"Armament: 7.62 mm C6 GPMG optionally mounted in one or both doors
7.62 mm Minigun optionally mounted in one or both doors"

They do carry them , both doors or in one door gun.

Edit: you can see here they say in this video the miniguns were outfitted on the griffons for afghanistan.

I think it would be well within reason to have at least one minigun on one door. If not both in both doors.

iirc the only afghan CAN map is Archer with uses chinooks

No need to do the extra work unless a CAN afghan map is featuring griffons

Perhaps you could replace the Chinooks on the Canadian layer of Kokan with some Griffons and equip them with miniguns? Although I guess this isn't the correct place for suggestions.

My guess is the Griffon would be armed with miniguns when it's used as a CAS platform like the USMC does with the UH-1N and Y (which is pretty much it's only role anymore).

Isn't chrisweb a crewman on them? He may be the guy to ask about this.

Lol, not a crewman on them, only time I see them is flying over me on the bases.

From my knowledge they are armed with minguns and GAU-12s on escort/armed reconisance missions.

So in their non transport role they would be uparmed and have an optics suite attatched. Having this in PR working with chinooks would be pretty fun, and at the same time realistic.

I figured that's what they do, arm them up like the Hueys in the Marines with performing escort and CAS.

Well the Minigun Griffon seems to actually be used as CAS and not for transporting people, so only 4 seats for it like CAS Huey. That would also allow to get around the pesky no trans-cas rules

i think the safe route to do is:
keep everything on the map, but add a minigun to one side (and keep C6 or remove C6, whatever)
as a minor straight-buff to CAN on op. archer.

this will also discourage trans to using chinook on dangerous fire support missions.. atleast for the time period that the griffon is on station.

We are kinda low on Vietnam asset maps. We have so much nice stuff to use and no place to put it
